Every morning during his flower walk, many things come into George's mind. This morning the sparse supply of flowers brought a poem. Would you like to hear it? It was written over 300 years ago, and the English then was different than today. The message is the same, don't you think?

"Make Much of Time"
by Robert Herrick 1591-1674

Gather ye rose-buds while ye may,
Old Time is still a-flying:
And this same flower that smiles today,
Tomorrow will be dying.

The glorious lamp of the heaven, the Sun,
The higher he's a-getting
The sooner will his race be run,
And nearer he's to setting.

That age is best which is the first,
When youth and blood are warmer;
But being spent, the worse, and worst
Times, still suceed the former.

Then be not coy, but use your time;
And while ye may, go marry,
For having lost but once your prime,
You may for ever tarry.

In the pic below, George picks sparse flowers at Tujunga's Delta Flats.

We made supper and nite camp in the City of Glendale. Tomorrow morning, the TiogaRV Team will head toward East Los Angeles and the Town of City Terrace. George wants to visit the home where he was born.
