5AM - Installing TriMetric Battery System Monitor. We were up early, to install the TriMetric monitor. Thank goodness that we bought the TriMetric, because the digital display connection for the Solar Boost 50 battery charge controller is not operating. When again in the USA, we will return to the factory to repair the Solar Boost 50.
The TriMetric is really great. One thing that the TriMetric has, is a light that comes on when the battery is charging. By looking at this "charging light" we may see if the Solar Boost 50 is working! The TriMetric also tells us the Battery Percent Full, the Battery Voltage and the Net Amps. A lot of other stuff too.
With the installation of the TriMetric, we now have a complete MPPT battery charge controlling system and should be getting the maximum power from the sun.
Who owns our Campsite? Yesterday while messing around in Museo El Boleo (Boleo Museum) across the street, we were talking with one of the people who work there. We found out that a man with the apellido (nickname) "Quintanilla" owns the lot and the house behind our Camp. This could be a very good thing, because if we could find Quintanilla, we would be able to ask permission to stay on his land. If the government owned this land, it may have been more difficult to obtain permission.
Apodo. Nearly everybody that I have met in Mexico has an apodo or nickname. Often friends may not even know a person's real name, because only the apodo is used. When I was having my cabinet doors installed by Chicho the carpenter in early 2005, Chicho gave me the apodo of Tioga. So around here my name is now Tioga!
10AM - Meeting Poncho. During our morning walk, we met a man watering his garden. His name is Poncho. We got to talking about my Camp. I asked Poncho if he thought that it would be OK for me to Camp in that lot which is located below and to the right of Poncho’s home. It turns out that Poncho worked for the lot’s owner, Quintanilla, and that the two of them were good friends. For thirty years, Poncho was Quintanilla's accountant at the mine in the western part of Santa Rosalia. When Poncho retired, his friend Quinatanilla gave him the gift of two homes that he now owns and where he lives.
Poncho says that he will talk with Quintanilla about us staying on his lot. Poncho says that Quintanilla should come to town in about a week. Isn't that the greatest thing?

11AM - John knocks on MsTioga's door. A good friend of The Team is a reader named John. We met John a few years ago, and have eaten supper at John and his wife Mimi's Southern California home twice.
After we had talked awhile, John drove a few miles south of Santa Rosalia to where he has made his Camp at the San Luis RV Park. This is a very nice RV park, right next to a bay where the fishing is good. John is paying $7US/nite for his Camp.

1PM - Eating lunch in Santa Rosalia. John wanted to have a sit-down lunch, so we went to a nice restaurant in El Centro de Santa Rosalia. We both ordered roast chicken, and it was soooooo good! A half chicken dinner cost $50 pesos (about $5US).
The restaurant also owns a hotel, which rents rooms for $280 pesos ($28US/nite).
