MsTioga wants to know?
Will you be my Valentine?
10AM - Ciudad Constitucion. We have found a Lavanderia to do our laundry, and guess what? We are at Super Mercado Peralta where we were yesterday with Javier! The Lavanderia is part of the market.
MsTioga and The Team are parked across the street next to a very nice park. We will eat breakfast here while we are waiting for the laundry.
Doing laundry in Ciudad Constitucion.
12 Noon - Parks in Mexico. Nobody on The Team is able to remember seeing a park in Mexico with a grass lawn. The park next to our Camp in Ciudad Constitucion is no exception. There are trees, benches, swings and teeter-totters, but no grass.
George cannot resist a swing.[Thumbnail]
Water from the Pemex. Only during this, our third year in Mexico, did we realize that the easiest place to fill MsTioga's fresh water tank was at a Pemex gas station. [Pronounced Peh-mehx]. You probably know that we only use MsTioga's fresh water tank for cleaning and the bathroom. We buy all of our drinking water at the Aqua Purificada stores.
MsTioga fills up her fresh water tank at the Pemex in Ciudad Constitucion.
2:00PM - Nite Camped in the Pueblo of Santa Rita. We have traveled 68 miles today, and MsTioga was getting sleepy. So, we made our Nite Camp in the Pueblo of Santa Rita. This little town is very dispersed over a large area for the amount of people living here.
We drove up a dirt road from Highway No. 1 that seemed to have the most homes. When we came to a place where there was only desert ahead, we asked permission of the nearest home to stay the nite. The lady of the house gave us the OK.
Homes are in the background behind the trees.
The Chocolate Cookie Rush. When we asked the lady for permission to park, her very young daughter asked if we had any candy? I asked Mom if it were OK to give her daughter chocolate cookies, and she said yes. By the time we reached MsTioga, there was a young boy with us for his cookie. Word spreads fast in tiny Pueblos. Within minutes, those two had grown to four. I made these four promise that they would not tell others. "It is not possible to give cookies to all the children in the Pueblo", I told them.
When a few seconds later more kids skidded up to MsTioga on their bikes, one boy told them that no more cookies were available. Wow!!
Lupita comes to call. The young daughter who asked for the cookies is named Lupita. She came by MsTioga a few times, looking thru our screen door. Lupita has a tiny voice. She is only three years old, but will be four next month in March. Lupita claims that she can read and write. For sure Lupita's vocabulary is much greater than my Spanish vocabulary.
Lupita told me many things, as little kids are prone to do. Her Daddy is Martin, and he is working on his car. His friends are helping him. Lupita has two rings, one on each hand, and she told me who gave her those rings, but I did not understand. After awhile when Martin called for Lupita to come home, he called her "Lupe." So that is her real name.
Lupita has an adorable smile.[Thumbnail]
Night. Mr. Mavica cannot capture the subtle coming of the night. The fading red glow we see looking out from MsTioga's window toward the west.
There are very few lites around us from the Pueblo of Santa Rita. With the sky clear, we are soooooo excited to see what views a sky full of stars brings. Will we be able to see the Milky Way, our fabulous galaxy?
