8AM - Lovely day at Luigui.
Fishemen have been out fishing, the Sun is bright, the sky is blue. A lovely day at the beach of Ligui. There is no wind, and a tiny reflection of the island may be seen in the quiet water of Mr. Mavica's pic below.

11AM - Headed west.
We pulled out of our lovely Camp at the Playa of Luigui. We easily could have stayed another day, because it is so tranquil. However, we our anxious to visit with our friend Javier the fisherman and his family in the Pueblo of San Carlos. So we are on the road again.

12 Noon - Breakfast Camped in the desert.
This Camp is on a flat expanse of desert, and according to Mr. DeLorme, we are at the 612 foot altitude. All around us are very dry plants, hanging on to life in a land of little rain.

Only the giant Saguaro and a few cactus show some sign of green.

We would like a small barrel cactus like this inside MsTioga. Very small.

3PM - Ciudad Constitucion.
We have three things that we want to do in Ciudad Constitucion. First, George needs another haircut and wants a buzz cut this time. The last haircut was too long. Second, we need gasoline. Third, grocery shopping.

Just off Highway #1 in the center of town, we found Estetica Laura, and would you believe that Laura was inside? We got a nice buzz cut. Laura gave us directions to Super Ley, a large super market. Laura said that it was very clean, and that we would like it. At Super Ley, we bought a bunch of stuff including two packages of chicken breasts fillets (no bones) and a package of ground beef for our next MsTioga Meat Loaf. Last, we bought gas at the Pemex.

5PM - Nite Camp.
We made our Nite Camp in a commercial section of Ciudad Constitucion. We were trying for San Carlos today, but you know how slow we travel. It is late in the day and we are usually camped by now. So we are staying the nite here in Ciudad Constitucion. Besides, there is a Thrifty Ice Cream store around the corner, which is a very good omen.

Mr. Datastorm has something to tell you.
I wanted you to know that today I went up twice and found my Space Station with no problems. I guess that my emails to Datastorm support and also one to Mr. Jim Pendleton, President of Motosat might have gotten the ball rolling.

It is really great when everything in the system is working right. I just sent up my antenna today, locked on the signal, and bam! Ms. GQ is online. We love that!

8PM - Out on the town on Friday nite!
There is excitement in the air, cars moving, music playing. Walking in the direction of the Thrifty Ice Cream, I came upon the busy little Panaderia Marlene. The street is rather dark, few lights, but customers were streaming into this panaderia (bakery). I went in to this tiny store to take a peek.

Customers were going crazy loading up their aluminum trays with baked goods, bringing them to the counter for Marlene to ring up. I do not know what these baked things are. I remember the names Coyote Queso and Empanada Crema on little cards in the display case. I picked out four things, because others were picking the same items. They looked good too.

My four baked things.

Thrifty Ice Cream.
After Panaderia Marlene, I continued walking toward Thrifty's, which is on Highway No. 1, the main street thru town. The neighborhood on the side street where I was walking is high class. I could see into the jardins and patios as I passed, and everything is so nice. Looking thru the steel gates, I could see shiny tiled patio floors, nice trees. That is how most of the homes looked.

Highway No. 1 is a busy and confusing street to cross. There are actually three streets making up this highway thru town. On either side is a one-way road. Traffic on these side roads may park at the shops along the way. The center road is two-way, and it is mainly used by people passing thru, not stopping to shop. Crossing these three roads with MsTioga is wild. I have to look in several directions at once, and MsTioga being so long, hangs into lanes as I turn. Wow!

Thrifty Ice Cream could be a store in your own neighborhood. Tiled clean floor. Nice ice cream display case. Price for one scoop in a cup is $15 pesos ($1.50US) compared to $10 pesos in Santa Rosalia. I told the young lady behind the counter about me living in Santa Rosalia for the winter, and now visiting with my fisherman friend in the Puerto of San Carlos. She told me about the traffic being busy out in front of the store. It is busy, because it is Friday nite. Saturday nite is also busy with traffic. The other nites of the week are pretty quiet. Same kind of traffic in Santa Rosalia on Friday and Saturday nites.
