Monday, April 24, 2006:

Daybreak, before 6AM - The high bluff over St. George.
Yesterday afternoon and into the evening, Little Mavicito had been stirring up The Team with his wanting to move Camp to the hill west of St. George. “I think that we could camp up on that hill over there”, he kept repeating.

Well, by morning Little Mavicito had the entire Team so stirred up, you would not believe. Everybody wanted to go up that hill over there. So, we broke Camp and began searching for a road to take us up that hill.

Guess what we found when we got up there? An airport! Yes, there is an airport on that hill. And of course, just as Little Mavicito predicted, we could make our Camp up on that hill.

10AM - View out MsTioga's window.
The sun has been rising, and with that rising the light for pics is a bit better. In the pic below, Little Mavicito is looking out at most of St. George from the airport hill. Man-O-Man!

We are going to do some shopping, fill up MsTioga's propane tank, and then head out toward Zion National Park.

3PM - Camped on an overlook of the Virgin River.
We have decided to make a Camp about 16 miles from Zion National Park. MsTioga wants to hold her daily miles down to stay within our gasoline budget.

This camp is absolutely a gorgeous place. Half of the view looking toward the east is of the red multi-colored hills seen so often here in Utah. To the northwest, are the mountains going thru the Dixie National Forest, with just a little snow remaining near the peaks.

There is a little trail that leads from our Camp to the Virgin River overlook. Little Mavicito and George stood on a ledge at the 3,858 foot elevation that drops straight down to the Virgin River. Wow! We were scared standing so close to the edge while taking these shots.

In the pic below, the Virgin River is a muddy color flowing alongside the dirt road thru the canyon.

7PM - Our Camp at about sundown.
Little Mavicito and George admit that we both have been going a bit pic crazy lately. Can you blame us? A new Nikon camera and panorama software would make nearly everybody a little pic crazy.

Wow! Another landscape pic.

TiogaRV Team Mission
To share the vagabonding life with our fellow RVers like yourself. We hope that you will try to boondock and dry camp. We have found great joy in camping away from the RV Campground. We would like you to try our camping life style yourself. Sharing with you our Daily Adventure is our way of encouraging you to try to camp as we do.
