6:30AM - Great Falls, Montana. Heading toward the City of Great Falls. Lewis and Clark made several camps in the area around Great Falls which we found easy to locate when we camped there in 2004. However over the past few days between Helena and Great Falls, we have been unable to locate signs that tell of the L&C journey as we have found in other places.
Our Mr. DeLorme downloaded a file with GPS locations for all of the L&C camps, but he could not read the file!? We sure would like to be able to pinpoint all the L&C camps by GPS.
9:30AM - Cascade, Montana. We have a made a Day Camp in the Town of Cascade, Montana. We filled MsTioga's propane tank here and are now doing laundry at a quiet laundromat. We are the only customer, and it is Monday!
While we are waiting for the laundry, Mr. Datastorm decided that it was time to calibrate his compass. Did you know that Mr. Datastorm has a built in GPS system? We have found that overtime, changing locations gets Mr. Datastorm's compass a bit off. Calibration fixes that. The procedure is; Mr. Levelers gets MsTioga completely level, than we calibrate. Then MsTioga turns around 180°, we level out again and complete the compass calibration. Mr. Datastorm says that re-calibrating his compass makes him feel soooooo good!
On the way to the Town of Cascade, we saw this peacock. We like to see peacocks.
A peacock looking at us.
11AM - Stormy weather. The Team has received many emails from readers worrying about us heading into stormy weather. There have been flood warnings north of us in recent days. We want you to know that we will be careful about flooding, OK?
We actually like it better when it rains compared to when it is hot. When the temp gets over 90°F, we get wiped out. This morning it is pretty overcast, and Mr. Sunny is only receiving about 4 amps of power from the Sun. A light rain is falling and the temp is 62°F. Mr. Onan (our generator) might have to be called upon today.
1PM - Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. When we entered the City of Great Falls, we saw a sign pointing to the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center and headed that way. Just before we got to the Center, Little Mavicito screamed, "There's the Great Falls!" and we stopped to take a look. These are actually named “Black Eagle Falls”, and are the upper and most westerly of the a series which make up the Great Falls.
Great Falls.
5PM - Trip thru the Lewis and Clark Center. The Lewis and Clark Center is a must see place. We enjoyed two movies, one especially as it portrayed the expedition's journey as it might have actually appeared.
Little Mavicito liked some of the exhibits quite a bit, and he took pics of them. Would you like to see? Hmmmm?

Some scenes from the Center.
6PM - Black Eagle Falls again. Black Eagles Falls looks different as the Sun begins to set. Little Mavicito wanted another pic of these magnificent falls.

Black Eagle Falls in late afternoon.
10PM - Meriwether Lewis. Meriwether Lewis was in his 35th year when he shot himself twice with pistols, taking his own life. It is a sad thing for me to think about. This man had accomplished such a remarkable feat of exploration. Yet, problems with depression overwhelmed him.

We have found great joy in camping away from the RV Campground. We would like you to try our camping life style yourself.
Sharing with you our Daily Adventure is our way of encouraging you to try to camp as we do.
