Going to the Ford dealer!
So many emails and ShoutBox messages have been received that the welded suspension bracket is not good. So, this morning MsTioga will go see the Ford dealer here in the City of Guanajuato.

Reader Sixpence writes!
Long time Reader Bob [who calls himself Sixpence] posted in ShoutBox:
"George, Why would you make Ms. Tioga the last? MH business in the states is lousy. Make a barter deal with a manufacturer to trade for a new Tioga or other and repay by feature advertising."

What do you think about this idea? Would you contact Fleetwood for me and find out if they are interested? Hmmmmm?

8AM - At the Ford dealer.
We arrived at the Ford dealer in Guanajuato and talked with the service department manager. I asked the manager to look at the suspension bracket weld repair to get advice whether the bracket should be replaced. The manager got the most experienced mechanic in their shop, and this mechanic looked at the bracket.

He told me that the weld quality was fine. The top and bottom reinforcement cleats make the bracket very strong, he said. I asked if the heat from welding would cause the bracket to crack. He answered, "No."

I asked, "Is this bracket safe to use?". "It is safe", said the mechanic.

Experienced Readers disagree.
Many Readers who are experienced welders have written to me with advice about the suspension bracket repair. Some of these Readers believe that the repaired bracket is dangerous to use. Some Readers believe that the weld repair is fine.

It seems to me that I've been diligent in my approach to this repair. I also have a shop background, having worked in a metalworking plant for many years. My call is that the bracket is even stronger now than when it was new. And, that the bracket is safe to use.

If this bracket gives trouble in the future, you may call me, "Pisher!"

Thanks to all Readers!
I want to thank every Reader who wrote to me about the weld repair. That you wrote to me, means that you care about me. That caring is a wonderful thing!

I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
