Third day in Santa Maria

8AM - Third day in Santa Maria!
This is MsTioga's third day Camped in Santa Maria after our decision to stay put until the flu disease is cured. I am a cranky patient. Feeling sorry for myself when sick. What a baby!

It's hard to know if I am getting better. Have to wait until the Advil wears off, to see if the fever
is still there.

I hate having the flu. Because, I never feel good when I am sick!

Why am I here?
Yesterday in the evening, Son Joe phoned to find out how I was doing. We got to talking about the reasons things happen. Joe does not believe, as I do, that stuff happens by Supreme direction. Joe is confident that stuff just happens. So, sit back and enjoy.

My experiences have taught me that things that happen in my life, appear to happen for a reason. So, I am looking for the reason to answer, "Why am I here?"

Why am I here in California, in these cold days as winter approaches? My little Ipod Touch has programmed into it the weather in places that I live, or where relatives live. Down in the Pueblo of Aticama, where I would like to be now, Ipod reports that it is 84°F and sunny.

10AM - Solar panels up in park.
MsTioga found a park where we are able to Camp perpendicular to the path of the Sun. Positioning MsTioga like this, is best for solar panel charging. We leveled out, Mr. Datastorm went up, and we raised our solar panels.

Things were looking good! Then, a park law enforcement guy drove up and threatened a ticket because MsTioga occupied three parking places. Man-O-Man!

11AM - Heading south.
We had a TiogaRV Team meeting to discuss our situation.
  • It is cold.
  • The Sun is too low in the sky at this latitude and time of the year to charge our batteries.
  • Nobody knows when my flu will be cured.
MsTioga proposed that we continue heading south. Since I am sick with the flu, this decision means that we will not be visiting Aunt Shirley and Uncle Seymour. Also, some Readers have sent email wanting to visit MsTioga too.

Everybody on the TiogaRV Team apologizes to Readers who wanted to visit. However, stuff happens. We do not know why yet, but maybe soon, we will know!

So, with the Winds of Winter Whistling around MsTioga's Windows, we now head south!

4PM - Nite Camped in Goleta.
We have made a Nite Camp in the Town of Goleta. On the street of our Camp, are many big rig trucks. It has been our experience that where the big rig trucks park, MsTioga will be OK. Even here in California!
MsTioga and The Team Camped among the big rigs!

Here is a pic of tonite's supper. Tortellini with meatballs and a movie!
Pasta tonite!
