Seeing stuff

Pearl Harbor - December 7, 1941 - 68 years ago.

Seeing stuff!
This morning I was washing the supper dishes from last nite, when I realized that the area around the stove was greasy. I must have stopped cleaning the wall, the exhaust hood, the oven everyday. Because they were dirty. Why didn't I see the dirt before?

That's how my life is. Things change, and I don't see it. Then suddenly I am brought back to reality. I suddenly see the dirty kitchen. I want to be aware of every moment of my life. Back on my birthday in 2003, I wrote my goal for the coming year. It was to be aware of my senses. Sight, smell, touch, sound, taste. To be sensitive of my surroundings, every moment of my life.
However, that is not how my life is. Seconds, minutes, hours, days slip by. And I suddenly find that the stove is dirty!

I am going to re-double my efforts to stay sensitive!

Cooking is special!
When I first began living fulltime inside MsTioga, my cooking skills were limited. In fact, I did not know then how to prepare rice from scratch! Rice-a-Roni is what I used when I wanted rice. Can you imagine that? Now when I want rice, I prepare just enough for my meal, usually a 1/2 cup rice and flavor the rice with something like Knorr's Caldo de Pollo.

Don't get me wrong. I love to eat out. Just not regularly. Because cooking for me is a special treat. I love throwing a meal together from stuff in the freezer, vegetables and left overs.

This morning my breakfast was simply scrambled eggs with onions and a bowl of cut up apple and banana topped with strawberry yogurt.

1:30PM - A road less traveled.
As we were heading out of the City of Navojoa, we came to an intersection. One way led to the Cuota, the toll road. The other way went to the libremento, the free road. We decided on the libremento! A road less traveled. Will it make a difference?

We are traveling thru farm country. A zillion acres of crops are growing all around us. We have made a Lunch Camp here. Little Mavicita and Jorge went up on MsTioga's roof to take a pano-pic of the corn field across the road.

5PM - Pueblo Gustavo Diaz Ordaz.
We have made a Nite Camp in the Pueblo Gustavo Diaz Ordaz. The highway runs thru one side of this pueblo. Our Nite Camp site is across from the fire station. We may hear the truck traffic on the highway tonite. But only when the trucks use their exhaust brakes.
