Essential RV equipment

Essential RV equipment
If you are going to be an RVing vagabond like us on the TiogaRV Team, there are some essential pieces of equipment that you must have in order to live a comfortable life.
  • Internet connection everywhere you go: Until an internet connection system is developed that is able to connect everywhere we travel, the TiogaRV Team continues to prefer a satellite internet connection over any other. Ours is the HughesNet/Datastorm [link]. Our Datastorm works all over the United States, southern Canada and most of Mexico.
  • Solar electric system: Solar electricity speaks for itself. Silently providing your RV with electric power without a connection to the grid. We do carry a tiny Honda 1KW generator for bad weather days. We only fall back on this generator a few times each year [link].
  • Leveling system: For an RVing vagabond, the ability to level out is essential. Your RV's refrigerator must be level in order to prevent the cooling unit from failing. Yesterday when I went shopping at the Soriana store in San Juan del Rio, the fridge was turned off while shopping to avoid leveling out [link].
  • GPS system: Before acquiring our Garmin Nuvi GPS, we did not understand how valuable it is to know exactly where we are at all times. Now, we would not be without out Garmin! [link]
