Bragging rights

7AM - Bragging rights!
Something on MsTioga broke yesterday afternoon and I fixed it.  Now, I am claiming "bragging rights" and want to tell you the story.

I was heading to the Pacific Coast and passing close to the City of Sonoma where my friends Pete & Fredericka Olson live.  Pete and I made arrangements to meet in downtown Sonoma.  You may recall that Pete is a musician.  He had a gig in the afternoon and would meet me afterwards.  While I waited for Pete to arrive, I decided to do some maintenance on MsTioga.

MsTioga's engine starting and house batteries were on the list.  When I removed the cables on the house battery to clean the terminals, the heavy duty connector lug broke!  This lug was original equipment and over 20 years old.  The blade on the lug snapped off!  The cable was long, and went way down into the engine compartment.  I decided to repair the cable instead of buying a new one.

Now it just so happens that I have a lot of experience attaching lugs to large cables.  Back in 2003 when installing MsTioga's solar battery bank, I fabricated all the cables myself.  Not an easy thing to do.  In the electrical supplies that are carried on board, the exact size replacement lug was found.

The old broken lug was removed, the cable stripped and the new lug crimped on using a large horse shoe nail puller.  Really!  I am not kidding.  It came out neat!

1:30PM - In-N-Out Burger
We spent the morning visiting with Pete & Fredericka, then headed west toward the Pacific Coast.  As MsTioga was going thru the City of Petaluma, we came upon an In-N-Out Burger.  Wow!  I must be addicted to In-N-Out because I just had to stop there for lunch!

Right now we are [here].

11PM - Bodega Bay RV Park
MsTioga is camped in an RV park.  Wow!  We forgot to tell you that we arrived here around 4pm in the afternoon.  I am getting a bit old to be hustling around looking for a free place to Nite Camp.  So, I took the easy way and am staying in Bodega Bay RV Park.  I hope that you will not think bad of me!

During the evening we watched a good movie named "The Time Traveler's Wife" [link].
