Earthquake

8AM - Earthquake!
We did not have an earthquake here at our Olema Nite Camp.  But we were thinking about earthquakes a lot.  Not only because our camp is sitting right on the famous San Andreas Fault.  But mainly because Olema was the epicenter of the 1906 earthquake that destroyed San Francisco.

Close to where we are is the "Earthquake Trail" which contains a fence that was offset 20 feet when the surface of the earth was ruptured in the great 1906 quake.  We are thinking about walking the Earthquake Trail!

11AM - Earthquake Trail
New Mavicita and I just returned from our walk along the Earthquake Trail.  Before we walked this trail, we went into the US Forest Service's Visitor Center where there was a model of Sir Francis Drake's ship, the Golden Hind.  We were impressed that the Golden Hind contained five decks as you may see for yourself in the pic below!

New Mavicita also captured a pic of the Earthquake Fence showing how far the fence moved during the 1906 quake.

5PM - City of Sausalito
MsTioga and The Team are in the City of Sausalito.  We plan to find a Nite Camp somewhere around here.  Maybe over at the harbor where the boats are anchored?

We traveled to Sausalito driving on a section of the Shoreline Highway that is extremely curvy and narrow.  Somewhat of a challenge!

Right now we are we are now [here].

6PM - Nite Camp
We have made our Nite Camp in what used to be the parking lot of a building.  We see that building in the Google Map.  The building must have recently burned up or was torn down because it is not there now.

There are several very old RVs on the dirt lot adjacent to our Nite Camp.  We think that we fit in pretty good here!  Click on our Nite Camp Location below to see where we are.  MsTioga is at the "green" arrow.
