Vagabonder Supreme

Back in 2003 when MsTioga and I first began RVing together, we called ourselves "Vagabonders Supreme." In those times, not too many RVers were doing the exciting things that we did. Like camping on the streets of towns. Or boondocking in the wilds of the forest.

During our first year on-the-road, we did not know what a good camp in a town looked like. We would drive around looking and looking. Then, taking a chance, we would make a camp. Hoping on hope that we would be alright during the nite in this chosen place.

Gradually, we began to know how to spot a good town camp more easily. Last nite, for example, when we were looking for our camp in the Town of Jacoma, we found it in only a few minutes. And this Jacoma camp proved not only very peaceful for sleeping, but safe as well. Nobody bothered us during the nite time.

Story about Nite Camping
Do you know about MsTioga Magazine [link]? There is a story in MsTioga Magazine in which Tioga and I share lots that we learned over the years with you about finding Nite Camps.

Click [here] to read that story which we call, "Nite Camping Information."

11AM - We love WalMart!
MsTioga was about to go straight thru the City of La Piedad when she spotted a periphery road, and decided to go around La Piedad instead. Guess what we found? A big 'ol WalMart. We just cannot resist WalMart. Don't know why?

Gotta go shop!
Jorge going to the WalMart!

4PM - Temporary camp
We are in the City of Irapuato and have made a temporary camp where we plan to stay until around 9pm. Then we will move to our Nite Camp location which we have already spotted.

It may not be a good idea to stay in our Nite Camp location too early. Could give crooks a target. Arriving after 9pm reduces potential problems.

6PM - Hotel Belen
The TiogaRV Team decided to stay on the grounds of the Hotel Belen. We like it here. Also, some of us seem to recall staying here before, but we cannot remember when? Hmmmmm?

    1. Mark,

I agree with you completely. Blogger Comments is soooooo much better than ShoutBox.

I was not able to have Comments using my old template. But with this present Blogger template that I am using, Comments are completely tweaked. So easy to use! And posters may make a long Comment without being cut off.

  3. George, I like your new format, too. Never did think well of Shout Box. Glad to see you're using Blogger comments. That's more "conversational" in my opinion.

Glad to see your blog up and running again with the help from Kevin. He's certainly a great resource, and so willing to help. His blog is always fun to read.

  7. Is it allowed to park overnight at the Walmarts in Mexico?

  8. Why would you be less of a target for crooks after 9:00 pm? Do the crooks go to bed early in Mexico?

    1. Crooks look for a target as happened to me in Los Mochis. Two crooked policemen spotted me during the early evening. Returned to rob at 3am.

If I had setup in my Nite Camp location after 9pm, they would not have spotted me in the first place.

  9. Well? I've never stayed in a Walmart in Mexico but I have all over the USA ... it always interested me to see the differences ... and boy are there differences... I'd use AllStays App to find me a WM when traveling and exploring and when I saw that familiar 'yellow' daisy .. I felt home.

    love your new format ...

    1. Don M,

Yes! Maybe so. I had not thought of that!

I did have a downer for a few months this past winter. Problems with my children got me down.

But I believe that I am over that episode in my life now! Thank God!
