Craig Houston

I received the following comment from Reader Craig Houston:

"Hi George,
Many people have posted a reply saying that you don't have to "retire" completely. You can take it easy and not post every day. I agree with them!! Don't feel that you have only two choices - post every day or stop posting all together. These are FALSE choices. There is no requirement for you to post every day nor is there any requirement for you to keep unpleasent comments on your blog.

George! go back to your original blog and enjoy your "retirement" by posting anything that is on your mind whenever you feel like it. If somebody leaves a nasty comment then delete it immediately. We don't like reading that childish junk any more than you do. As was said several times above, you have thousands of readers who would really like to hear from you once in a while. Don't let them down."

  5. Very true, George. We'd love to hear from you from time to time. Daily blogging is not a requirement to enjoy the support and camaraderie of the blogging community. And rude comment are not sacrosanct...they CAN and should be deleted.

  6. I agree George! You got tied up in the challenge of "having" to post every day. This is very hard to do when nothing is going on and is not something your readers need. Relax and update us whenever you have something to say, we will be satisfied.

  7. You can also put your comments on "moderate" and easily eliminate the offensive ones.

  8. Hey George, sometimes a couple pictures of the neat things you see, or quick story about someone you met keeps me working on retirement money as I fix up the RV I just got.

    not out there yet.....

  9. George, would be great to hear from you once and a while. Whether you like it,or not, you are our leader, our example. Because of your courage so many years ago we are now out on the road trying to emulate in some small way your wonderful vagabond life. We still need your wisdom.

  11. I'm not sure if posting someone else's comment counts as a blog entry. But it's an interesting concept.

    1. Yes! It does indeed count as a blog entry. Don't fall victim to those FALSE CHOICES. George can post anything he wants, anytime he wants. its HIS blog. In fact, George should consider posting interesting RV information and web links in addition to his personal stories. I think that the readers would find interesting anything that George found that was interesting on the Internet. What say you, George.

  15. George I have been checking your blog every other day ..to see if you had changed your mind ...How is it possible to miss someone that you only read their blog I don't know but I did... I guess since I started reading in about 2008 and then you son died by suicide then just a few month later I lost my younger brother the same way I felt connected to you...its such a devastating thing to happen to a family it has turned our family upside down and I guess I just really understood where you were coming from in a since even though it was my brother and not my son ...anyways I am glad you posted this so we at least know your ok ..I was very worried about you ...Just want you to know that I care and I read so many loving comments of others who truly care about you and how you are coping ...I also wanted to tell you I bought the book The untethered soul so I could understand what you were talking about how much it has changed your outlook on things .... Super big hugs to you George you have made me a better person for having read your blog and I hope to see updates every once in a while if you feel up to it ..Hugs, LaDawn
