Road to recovery

It seems that the road to recovery for open heart surgery for me is a long one. But I have been blessed for that journey. It appears as though I have an unusual pain tolerance for open heart surgery. I've had to take no pain medication at all! I'm blown away by this lack of pain.

My biggest problem is that I don't fall asleep at night. This may not be a problem for me however, because I get plenty of naps during the day.

I went to visit my cardiac surgeon this morning, and asked him how he cut open my chest? "It's easy", he told me. "Power tools!"

  3. George! Nice to see you posting a few words! You'll improve, don't worry. Not falling asleep at night can be a common issue most any time we get past the half century mark.
I too have followed for many years and have missed hearing from you.

  4. Sorry to hear that your current "road" has taken you through the bypasses of heart surgery but wonderful to know that that you still are following your journey. I too have missed you musings and have thought about you and your life's travels. Thankfully Carol (and Bill) passed on that you had posted once again. Heal and proceed with whatever and where ever you chose to explore but thanks again for letting those of us that think about you know you are still out there considering the world.

  11. My sister had open heart surgery and she had trouble sleeping at night also. Doctor told her to try and not nap during day so she can sleep at night. George you have a renewed heart...take care and enjoy life as you always have.
