Wimbledon

I've been a tennis fan since around 1990. Wimbledon comes to me on ESPN thru the internet. I have not subscribed to TV for many years.

This morning I watched the Williams sisters in a double match. Also, Simona Halep in a singles match. Williams sisters and Halep are a few of my favorites.

YMCA and Guava Gardens party
This afternoon I plan to bike over to the YMCA to work out. Then, this afternoon Guava Gardens is hosting an Independence Day Party for tenants. Burgers and hot dogs! :)

  1. Interesting that you don't have cable TV and can stream ESPN.
I have been watching the tennis on my TV and pay $230 per month for the service! That does include internet which I think is only $35. I should disconnect and do like you, digging up the same content via the Internet.

    1. Hi Rick,
My internet provider is Cox. I'm paying $69.99/month.

I get all the stations thru Apple TV [ie; PBS, HBO Go, ESPN, MLB.TV, ABC News, Disney Channel].

Some of these stations require a subscription.

  3. Makes me happy to know that you have fun things to do where you live, George.

I pay about the same as you do for Internet, but ours is AT&T. Sometimes I would like to be able to see a cable channel, but they always ask which company I use. Too bad. Not worth the $ to subscribe to cable. I have found some podcasts of my favorite shows. A good thing! Enjoy your fourth, my friend.

    1. Hi RunNRose,

Thank you sooooo much for your very welcome comment!

None of the stations that are shown on my Apple TV list are cable channels. They are all internet stations. But some of these stations are only available "IF" I also have a TV subscription.

However, this is slowly changing. For example, HBO now has direct subscription option which has a monthly cost. But only charges for content that is wanted. Not like cable TV which has a lot of "not wanted" content thrown into the program mix.
