Tioga George Lives!

9am - A recent Blog of "The Adventures of Tioga and George" had the 11pm post begin with:
"Back when I was Tioga George"

Several email arrived to take issue with this post. One email stated:

"In your blog post the other day, you said "When I used to be Tioga George..." but you are still Tioga George to many of us!"

Nice to know! 😎

5pm - Last Friday Dinner
This dinner has this name, because it held on the Last Friday of the month. This is a free dinner.

My good friend Pete Olson, musician, singer, composer, has a gig at Last Friday Dinner.

I made a video!

    1. Hi Croft,

Somewhere along the way, I must have become "JUST PLAIN GEORGE."

      At least to myself. Hmmmmm?

  4. There is only one George in my life. When I say "George said ..." or "........ happened to George", my family knows I am talking about Tioga George. As I have told you before, your life has been very important in MY life.. So glad you are still here.

    1. Hi RnR,

I suspect that I may know what happened.

As a result of my open heart surgery in March, 2014, I developed "Post Operative Depression." Nothing serious. After about one month with POD, my doctor became aware of it. And gave me medication to reduce it.

However, by that time, I was already in Guava Gardens. Having POD AND living in Guava Gardens, must have been a separation for me from the now departed MsTioga.

If you recall, at that time I was Blogging very irregularly. And I was then Just Plain George.

But I am back now 😎.

  5. That song is from 1972 called 'Oh Girl' and sung by the Chi-Lites. It's from the album 'A Lonely Man'..........................
To all of us you will always be Tioga George the gentle man who led the way ahead along many an unknown road for we fellow RV Blogging Travelers ever so eager to follow...........

    2. Actually, Al, that song is supposed to be 'Can't Help Myself' by The Four Tops, released in 1965...unfortunately, I just started doing it and definitely don't have it down yet! Here's one that I know better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXn-gGhX4vQ

  7. Followed your blog regularly for years so I'm conditioned that you will always be Tioga George to me. Also, you may have been the first or at least one of the first rvers to live full-time on the road and make money off posting your adventures. Always an inspiration!

    1. Hi Sheila,

Yes, that Google AdSense income kept me on the road RVing. I almost caved in 2004. Almost took a regular job!

Then, a Reader took me in hand, taught me about Google AdSense. From there, it was straight to the Moon for my income.

      It was a miracle!!

  11. Tioga George ,
In April of next year my wife and I will take off in our new to us motorhome. We have sold everything, and are waiting for spring. I promised an employer I would stay until April, and I will honor that promise. We have one car left to donate to charity along with some furniture, and we will be on the road. No storage units to come back to or to tether us. It is because of you that we have the courage to do this. I am sure that you are responsible for many other to do the same. We love you and reading your blog . You will always be Tioga George to us. I do miss Ms. Mavacita and the rest of the crew, but life is constantly changing. By the way, Honda George just doesn't sound right :)
