A new Team Member

9am - We are delighted to introduce a
New Tioga George team member. His name is "Boid!"

Boid

11:30am - Breakfast!!
For most, breakfast is just another thing. For us on The Team, it is oh sooooo special! Because the inside of Twayler has been a huge mixed up mess! Until about an hour, something being looked for could have been inches away. Yet, pretty much impossible to see.

In only one single hour, a little order was restored. Man-O-Man! We found a fry pan, a dish for eating. So we prepared a scrambled egg and 1/2 toasted bagel.

Then, ate our first breakfast inside Miss Twayler 😎.

12:30pm - Herding flies
Yesterday, Twayler's screen door was not closed for a few hours. Result. Flies! Strangely, Raid did kill those critters?

This morning, a whole herd of flies was observed on the inside of the screen door. The door was opened for a few seconds. Every one of those critters escaped to the outside!

We love to herd those flies! We have never herded any critter before. But, we are extremely good at herding flies. Must be one of our talents!

7pm - Guava Gardens and Miss Twayler
For about the last two hours, I puzzled about the differences between living in Guava Gardens vs living in Miss Twayler??

There are lots of differences. But I was looking to find the major one. The ultimate one. I just could not put my finger on it!

I went outside and took the cage with Baby Boid  too. It was getting toward sunset. And everything looked sooooo beautiful. Boid seemed to like the outside. He tweeted. Then proceeded to preen his tail.

Then, like magic, the answer flashed into my brain! With Guava Gardens I know what's coming. I know what is coming all the way to my final minute here on Earth.

How different with Miss Twayler!

With Miss Twayler, everything is a mystery! Everything is possible. There are no limits with Miss Twayler. A second, a minute, an hour. They all have completely unlimited possibilities!

And....with Miss Twayler, unlimited possibilities have me sooooo excited! Sooooo happy! Feeling sooooo good!

Who would voluntarily, and willingly, and knowingly, choose Guava Gardens over Miss Twayler?

The answer: Nobody, that's who!

    1. Hi Croft,

You are sooooo right about BIG boots!

However, New Boid is showing very good signs. He is very calm. He is not nervous around me. Just alert.

I am already teaching Boid words. "Baby", "Boid".

  3. The colors of his feathers are so beautiful! You will have to teach me about your new pet, as I know little about birds. What kind is he? (I assume your pet is male since you named him Boid.). How old is he? Eventually, I'm sure, he will gravitate to you and rest on your fingers or shoulder. Now you have to protect your good buddy from the cats roaming the park.

    1. Hi Dee,

It makes sooooo happy that you are interested in my Little Boid!

Boid is a parakeet [Budgerigar]. He is a boy birdy! His age is less than 6-months.

I have had many such birds. First one when I was 13 years old. Carried my huge bird cage home from the store in El Sereno [Los Angeles] on my bike. Could NOT do that now, for sure!! I needed a large cage because I had plans back then of breeding parakeets!

It is just a matter of time before Boid likes me so much that he will follow me around in my trailer office. First thing in getting Boid to be unafraid of hands is, to put some of his seed in the palm of my hand and encourage him to eat.

  5. It will be so nice for you to have company in your tailer. I am sure that Boid will fill this position to the best of his ability.

The nice thing about trailers/RV's, is that it doesn't take long to clean and straighten things up in them. :-)

    1. Hi Ruth,

You hit the nail on the head!

Were you aware that at Guava Gardens, that it s prohibited to have a pet? Even a tiny bird, or a fish!?

My first FullTiming day here in Apple Valley, I went looking for my Baby Boid. And there he was. With his gorgeous blue cere above his beak.

I loved that Baby Boid right then. The instant that I saw him!

    2. Hi Rita,

That's neat that you remember that about Baby Boid in Mexico.

Baby Boid had a wonderful sense of humor. He thought that it was a really funny thing to fly on to my head and walk around while I was driving MsTioga. Bird NEVER did that on my head when I was NOT driving MsTioga,

I would brush Boid off with my hand. Then, a few minutes later he would be walking on my head again. He would repeat this for a long time. Maybe 1/2 hour +.

      He was one smart body!

  7. Other issues creating your excitement.
MissTrayler is new. New stuff is exciting.
You own Miss Trayler. You are no longer renting an urban cave.
You're a wanderer much as I am. My wife and I simply get antsy after we just hand around anyplace too long.

    Among our favorite songs.

The Greatest Adventure, The Ballad of The Hobbit
From the animated movie The Hobbit

The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.
Today and tomorrow are yet to be said.
The chances, the changes are all yours to make.
The mold of your life is in your hands to break.
The greatest adventure is there if you're bold.
Let go of the moment that life makes you hold.
    To measure the meaning can make you delay;
It's time you stop thinkin' and wasting the day.
The man who's a dreamer and never takes leave
Who thinks of a world that is just make-believe
Will never know passion, will never know pain.
Who sits by the window will one day see rain.
The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.
Today and tomorrow are yet to be said.
The chances, the changes are all yours to make.
The mold of your life is in your hands to break.
The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.

  8. HI George,
I am so happy that you are happy now! You are very lucky to have a choice about where you live..Most of the people at Guava Gardens..don't have a choice. You are very fortunate ..and someone is looking out for you. Also..I remember (I think) 2 Boids..don't open the door when he is loose again. I know you won't...(smily face). I look forward to hearing about your new neighbors and friends! barb

    1. Hi Barb,

      I like your comment.

Maybe its that most of the people at Guava Gardens BELIEVE that they do not have a choice. Maybe they are afraid to MAKE that choice.

Is it possible that the difference between myself and most others at Guava Gardens is, that I do not let my FEARS stand between me and what I dream to do?

I agree with you. Some entity is looking after me. It may not be a "SOMEONE" though. Could that entity be my guardian angel?

You have a good memory, Barb. You remember that sad day that I walked out of MsTioga, not realizing that Baby Boid had just landed on my shoulder.

In my mind's eye, right now, I am able to see my last glimpse of Boid as he flew up into a tree. I never saw Baby Boid ever again!

      Bye for now,
      Tioga George

    2. Good point about opportunities. You can have opportunities, but unless you know about them and are willing to take some chances in life, you will be stuck in a Guava Gardens the rest of your life. I also could have sat in my old condo in my recliner watching TV until I died, but you and others inspired me to full-time and travel! Thanks.

    3. Hi again Barb,

I just remembered something that I would love to share wth you. Maybe you remember this thing below too?

Something happened to me in July, 2003. That was only four weeks after I had begun my great adventure traveling with MsTioga. I had become afraid! I considered returning home to Concord, California. Then, I wrote a note to myself and taped that note to MsTioga's restroom door.

Here is what that note stated:

      My creed
I don't run away from my dreams
Because of my fear of what "might" happen
I have faith that no matter what
Fate brings me, I shall overcome.
