Moving on

TiogaRV Team Moving Thoughts

9am - The Team is very comfortable staying at Lone Wolf RV Park in Apple Valley. However, last nite's 36℉ cold snap sorta shook us up out of that State of Comfort! And now we are thinking about possibly moving closer to Jojoba Hills RV Park.

This morning we began doing Google Map searches of RV Parks near the City of Temecula, California. Temecula is about a 1/2 hour drive to Jojoba.

BTW, we phoned Jojoba Hills this morning to learn where we are now on the waiting list. We are #24. Down from #34 when we first got on the list on September 14th.

1pm -
Kaiser for appointment
I have a new primary care doctor: Maged Abdelmassieh Toma, MD. Wow! What a handle! Dr. Toma has an excellent medical resume. I was kinda lucky to get him.

When I have an appointment like this, I plan to arrive about 1/2 hour early. That's so that I never have to rush if something slows me up during the trip. Also, and more importantly, because it's much more relaxing to be 1/2 hour early, compared to 1-minute late!

Before appointments, the doctor's nurse always takes my vitals. Weight, height, blood pressure. Asks about my medication. I am anxious to find out my vitals today!!

You may recall, that I halted all my prescriptions after the disaster of the side-effects which I learned about only a couple of months ago. I feel sooooo much better now that I am off-meds!

I wonder if doctors weigh the potential harm from NOT taking meds compared to the potential harm from taking the meds? [Side effects].

VITALS:
My Weight: 158 lbs- I have not weighed 158 since I was in basic training at Fort Ord when I had 22 years!

Blood pressure: 113/58 and I am no longer taking meds for blood pressure, cholesterol and other heart related stuff.

Pretty neat, huh?

    1. Hi Rita,

Isn't Temecula a warmer place than Apple Valley?

Also, I plan to move permanently to Jojoba RV Park. I'll just have to tough it out with weather when I am living there.

Of course, Scampy and I could just head out on our own for warmer climes anytime we wished! 😎

  2. Can't you stay as a weekly or monthly rate at Jojoba until a lot becomes available?

    1. Hi John,

      No, that is not allowed.

If that was OK, wouldn't everybody on the waiting list try that maneuver? I sure would!

    2. Actually, George, you should ask about that. You can certainly stay 28 or 30 days, then be out for a certain amount of time before staying another 28 or 30 days. Not sure about the exact number of days. It wouldn't be a maneuver or change your position on the list.

    4. Hi again, Pete,

I just checked Jojoba's website. Here's the dope:

      Full Hookup Sites
Sites may be rented for up to 28 days in a calendar year at a cost of $20 per day plus a daily surcharge for electricity ($3 for 30 AMP and $4 for 50 AMP).

  3. I was wondering how long you were going to stay there. The high desert gets mighty cold. Come to think of it, mighty hot too, ha.

    1. Hi David,

Moving away from Lone Wolf wasn't on my mind until the temperature descended to 36℉ last nite.

Tonite the low temp comes at 6am. 32℉!! Wow! I'm a Southern California East Los Angeles boy. Born and raised. That temp could mess me up!

  4. George, Keeping in mind that I'm pretty clueless on most medical things, aren't the blood pressure numbers a little low?

How was your blood work? That's usually a pretty good indicator of overall health. I think. :-)

    1. Hi ND,

My blood pressure numbers are right in there! Could NOT be better! 😎

Blood work is what happens when a patient goes to the lab for blood tests. My visit today was an introduction to my new primary care doctor at Kaiser. No lab visit today.

  5. We always have blood work a week before our doctor visits. Then the doctor goes over the results with us. Works well for us. And, I guess, our doctor. Happy Thanksgiving week!
