Scampy Camping

Things To Take

5:30am - Scampy always ready for camping
We have stopped making a list of Things To Take to get Scampy ready for a camping trip! Instead, we buy whatever we need to be always ready to camp.

A nail clipper is an example. We wrote on our shopping list of Things To Buy:
Nail Clipper

Now, we never have to remember to take a nail clipper along when going on a Scampy camping trip. That nail clipper shall remain permanently inside Scampy! Whenever we leave to go camping from now on, all we do is hookup Scampy, and drive off to search for adventure! 😎

11:30am - Perfect over-easy eggs!
A T-Fal teflon fry pan was purchased so that perfect over-easy eggs could be made for breakfast. But, they never were perfect! These T-Fal eggs always broke when flipping.

This morning for breakfast, I fried red potato slices, diced white onions and sliced zucchini squash in the big Lodge cast iron skillet with lots of garlic. After these veggies were done, I was just about to heat up the T-Fal for my egg.

I thought to myself, "Why dirty up the T-Fal?" And I began frying the egg in the Lodge. This over-easy egg came out perfect from the Lodge! Go figure?

12 noon - Slide out drawer project
Only a little tweaking left in order to complete both drawers. At long-last! This drawer project is finally complete.

When all the stuff that goes into these drawers is moved in, our Twayler's place will be sooooo neat and tidy!

1pm - Boid anti-escape drape
We just installed a drape which should prevent Baby Boid from flying thru the door to the outdoors

It's made from a folded bed sheet. The drape is only functional when I am entering or exiting Twayler.  At those times. the sheet pretty much eliminates the flight path for Boid to escape.

Also, when I am entering, I'll be able to stick my head inside to spot Boid to see if Boid is close to the door.

Anti-Boid escape drape!

10:30pm - Best at losing stuff
I am really excellent at losing things. When a day or so goes by without something going missing, I know for sure that something is missing. I just have not found out about it yet.

During the last 24-hours, my Indiana Jones Fedora hat went missing. Also the remote clicker for the Twin-Star Electronic Room Heater.

When something goes missing now, I just go right ahead and buy a replacement. Why should I get upset? This the way of my World.

I ordered another hat a few minutes ago and in the morning, I'll order another clicker.

  1. We do similar. The bathroom is fully stocked and we leave our foul weather gear and some basic clothed stored in the camper.
Throw in some food and we're off.
    Enjoy.

  2. Put some Oil Or bacon fat in the T-fal. ( Teaspoon ) and cook and flip no utensils
If you want it shiny side up put a pot cover on top of the T-fal till done
Dont use butter it burns off and allows food to stick
If the yoke breaks your flip technique is not perfected
    Or it's not cooked enough
If you fry it you're putting a coating on the bottom of the egg so the spatula have something to slide under similar to a fried egg sandwich
Over easy egg is a very good greasy pan

  4. This screen door would be much more attractive and you would still be able to see through it to see where Boid is.

  5. Cast iron is inherently non-stick if you take care of it.

    1. Hi Don,

I believed that Teflon is the very best non-stick.

Now, I am wondering about that belief.
