Easier Life

Scampy vs Twayler

8am - Just a few minutes ago, a question popped into my head. "When did we leave Lone Wolf and head out with Scampy in tow?"

Going to our Blog, there was the answer!

It seems incredible. It was only on November 24th? Thanksgiving Day? Only 17-days? No! It had to be much longer than that. The calendar days were recounted again. And then again, And then a 3rd time.

That's all the time that we were gone! Little Honda, Scampy and Tioga George took off on their Grand Adventure on Thursday, November 24th! Why does it seem like sooooo much longer?

2:30pm - Blog
My intention was to make a second Blog post about 10am. But duties called! And other things needed doing first.

Things like:
  • Incoming mail
  • Packages of ordered stuff
  • Water leak under Twayler
  • Cleaning and straightening up Twayler
  • Arranging a different Lone Wolf storage position for Scampy
  • Moving Scampy refrigerator food into Twayler
  • (2) credit card phone calls
Now things have settled down a bit, and I want to let you in on "What's what!"

First of all, I am NOT moving away from Lone Wolf right now. It's not clear to me what got into my head to move? Do you know?

The title at the top of this Sunday, December 11, 2016 Blog is:
Scampy vs Twayler

What I had in my mind with that title, was to let you know that for me, living in Twayler is sooooooooo much easier than living in Scampy. Don't get me wrong. Running around with Scampy is a blast.

Let me state that again:
Scampy life is no where near being as easy as Twayler life!

I am also guessing that living at Lone Wolf is as close as close possible to living at Jojoba Hills Escapee RV Park. Where one future day, I will permanently live.

    1. Yes! Rita,

      It sure does fly!

It seems to me, that RVing is the very best thing to do because it's always new AND exciting!

      My advice:
      * Do not be afraid. Just go.
      * Fly on foreign airlines. Cheaper.
      * Do NOT listen to people who warn you. What do they know?!

    1. Hi Rubbertramp,

I've travelled to Israel, three times. 1995, 2008 and 2010. And spent almost 3/4 of my time in Israel, during these trips, in Jerusalem [Capitol of Israel].

I have never visited another Middle Eastern country. Also, have never been to Honduras.

  3. Well a lot of things happened in those 17 days so maybe that's why it seemed so long?

    1. Hi David,

      I doubt your idea that:
Because so many things happened to me, my time there seemed longer.

I believe that what actually happened is, that I simply lost track of time.

  4. Don't know the why but it seems that as we age time acts differently . Every time we turn around, another year has passed. 2017 will be here before you know it. What happened to '16?
When we leave home for a trip in our RV, three weeks seems like an eternity then we're ready to head home. There was a time when we would head out for 6-8 months at a time. Now 2-4 weeks seems to be our limit.
Perhaps there is just something extra comfortable about home!
    I also wonder why.

  5. I am so glad to hear that you have decided that you have a more secure future with Twayler than on the road with Scampy. Yes, being on the road is fun, but a much more demanding endeavor now than it was when you were younger.

    1. Hi Rose,

You may have gotten that wrong.

Twayler is my home base. Rarely moves. I do not drive her tow vehicle. When Twayler needs moving, I'll hire a mover.

Scampy is my camping RV. You may recall that, Scampy came out of my tent camping nightmare.

      * Better to die all worn out at the side of a gorgeous flowing stream.....
      * Than to die safe in bed, all covered in rust.

    1. Hi Grandma,

I am slowing down for a very short while.

But, I am already doing stuff so that I may go off soon on another adventure, with Scampy!

  7. George,
Winston Churchill made a humerous remark to the effect of "One can always trust America to do the right thing...after they'be tried everything else!

I think this is where you are right now, and I don't mean it in a disparaging way. It's important that we at least try the alternatives before we accept compromise.

    Kudos on going for it!
