Next?

What will we do next?

7am - What, Where and When?
  • What will we do next?
  • Where will we do it?
  • When will we do it?

Here is the Current Situation [Not prioritized]:
  • We love camping with Scampy.
  • At Lone Wolf RV Park, we are paying $440/month rent for Twayler and $50/month storage rent for Scampy.
  • At Jojoba Hills SKP Resort, we are currently #24 on the waiting list to become permanent residents. We don't know how long it will take to get to the top of that list.
  • During this present trip to the San Diego area, we first became aware that fulltiming in Scampy is doable.
  • I love being close to John and Mimi.
  • Living fulltime in the San Diego area is fantastic.

8am - Dilemma
One definition of the word "dilemma" is: "A difficult situation or problem."

The "Current Situation" list above, is a big time dilemma for me!
[Also, quandary or predicament]

Do you have the answer?
We are asking you, Dear Reader. Do you know?

    1. Hi OAT,

Yes about decisions, if you mean they are often difficult!

Thank you for "luck" comment! 😀

    1. Hi Croft,

      Your comment:
"We are on the edge of our seats George!" prompts me to ask:

Aren't you going to HELP me?

  3. Great to have options, and you are in good shape to enjoy any combination of them that works. The real dilemma is that we can't predict the future. My counsel would be to continue the full-time adventure with Scampy for the next three months, see how that settles in and how much, if at all, you miss a home base like Lone Wolf provides (or ultimately, Jojoba). No way to know, but you seem in a really good place to continue the Scampy experiment, while having a fall-back position in place! I'm happy for you, George.

  4. I think it is a good idea to have Twayler as a safety net. If you were to come with a problem while fulltiming, you have a place to go. I know you are very optimistic about your health, etc,, but, George, we just never know. A very popular blogger was fine and in great spirits last January. Two months later, his sons had to go get him and his 40 foot motor home. He, it turned out, had a brain tumor so far advanced that he could no longer function. We can't guess the future.

On the other hand, you did say something about moving, because Lone Wolf is cold. I wonder if there might be a place closer to John and Mimi where you can wait for Jojoba Hills.

Good luck in your decision making. We are all watching and wishing you the best.

    1. Hi Rose,

I am a very lucky guy to have you as a Reader and commenter.

Your comment has directed my attention to have the proper perspective because of your story about the popular blogger.

      Thank you so very much!

  5. This old woman doesn't get it. If this old woman had scampy, that would be my home. If you really want a home base, get one near or in San Diego. This old woman loves San Diego and would jump at the chance to live there. We would sell Tayler and save $money for living in San Diego. But then again, that is just me. Do what you think is best for you. See no 'I's.'

    1. Hi Rita,

You certainly are very strong in positioning yourself as a San Diego lover!

And, relating what you would be doing if you owned Scampy and were in my circumstances. I believe that I understand you completely.

      Thank you commenting,

  6. My advice would be to take an extended trip in Scampy, perhaps a month or so. See if you have the same perspective on full-timing in Scampy after that time. Then make your decision about continuing with Lone Wolf RV Park. You will only be out one month's rent, and you will be in a better position to make a reasonable decision.

  7. Lone Wolf might just be a tad warm if you decided to stay "home" during the summer months..

  8. I agree with Scott--take at least a one-month trip in Scampy before you make a decision about Twayler. And the point about needing a home base is a good one. You need to test living in Scampy in hotter and colder weather, as well.

    1. Hi Grandma,

You agree with Scott. I agree with Scott. And others agree with Scott as well. [Sounds like the lyrics to a song!]

As I type this reply to your comment, Scampy is behind me reading over my shoulder. Scampy is liking what you wrote.

PS: Amazing that at his age, Scampy can read! He's not even two years old yet! 🙄

  9. I am in agreement with RunandRose, and Ray. Give yourself some time, be patient, experience a more long term run with Scampy and consider your health issues. I agree, you do need at least a plan for a safety net if and when the need arises. I am a planner so it is normal for me to plan out options, if making long term goals. What other options might you have available for yourself? Do you need to be close to medical facilities/doctors? Do you have enough money available if your situation worsens? Can you recover the large sum of money you spent getting into the Jojoba Resort? Can you write down a pro/con list before taking action on a major change in your life? Just some things to think about.

  10. George, you are such an inspiration. So happy to see you out there living life and enjoying your adventures with Scampy. We have a camper about the size of Scampy and love it. Thank you so much for the idea of day camping. Never crossed my mind, but thanks to you, it's on the agenda. Have you considered putting Twayler in storage while you and Scampy full-time for awhile to see whether you like it?

    1. Hi MizMozy,

Your "inspiration compliment/comment is sooooo good for me to read. Thank you very much!

And thank you also for sharing about your loving your small
      camper.

I'm so very delighted and love that you have adopted my idea of making Day Camps! 😍

You ask if I've considered putting Twayler in storage while Scampy and I fulltime together:
      * Yes! I have considered that option.
      * Exercising that option may save $440/month rent.
      * I would have to return to Lone Wolf RV Park in order to prepare Twayler for storage and oversee that move.

Lots to think about, MizMozy! Thank you!

  12. As I see it the reason you are having trouble making a decision and asking others is, you have so many options. Everyone should have as many options as you! And since timewise nothing seems to be urgent I would think you would just continue to do what "Tioga George" always does. Explore, and do.
