11am - Political Debating
Because it is my belief that debating among American citizens is sooooo important to protecting our rights, I am below reproducing a portion of a letter written from Thomas Jefferson to James Madison.

Perhaps this 11am Blog post may stir up some debate among Readers?

Extract from Thomas Jefferson to James Madison
[Extract from a letter}

Paris Jan. 30. 1787

Societies exist under three forms sufficiently distinguishable. 1. without government, as among our Indians. 2. under governments wherein the will of every one has a just influence, as is the case in England in a slight degree, and in our states in a great one. 3. under governments of force: as is the case in all other monarchies and in most of the other republics. to have an idea of the curse of existence under these last, they must be seen. it is a government of wolves over sheep. it is a problem, not clear in my mind, that the 1st. condition is not the best. but I believe it to be inconsistent with any great degree of population. the second state has a great deal of good in it. the mass of mankind under that enjoys a precious degree of liberty and happiness. it has it’s evils too: the principal of which is the turbulence to which it is subject. but weigh this against the oppressions of monarchy, and it becomes nothing. malo periculosam, libertatem quam quietam servitutem. even this evil is productive of good. it prevents the degeneracy of government, and nourishes a general attention to the public affairs. I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, & as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical.

12 noon - Selling a vehicle in California
Dealing with the government of California is a ridiculous experience!

Despite themselves, the only thing that these government people do [Legislature people, regulation writers and everybody else involved in creating laws and regulation] is write new laws and regulations.

If they did NOT write new stuff, they would not be doing their job. Anyway, that is what it seems that they believe!

Now, I am transferring Honda to Lucas this morning. I am trusting that the guy at Lucas's bank is schooled about this stuff. Because I sure ain't!

2pm - No pay today!
Lucas's credit union [where he is borrowing to buy Honda] had an error in data that showed the wrong Social Security number. So, it seems that payday will be tomorrow instead of today.

8pm - Tránsito's battery
When Tránsito is towing Scampy, electric power should flow to Scampy's battery. Thus charging Scampy's battery.

However, when Tránsito's engine is turned off, the battery remains hooked up to Scampy's battery. This condition discharges Tránsito's battery!

This discharging [when engine is turned off], did not happen when Little Honda was the tow vehicle.

What do I need that will disconnect Tránsito's battery from Scampy's battery when Tránsito's engine is turned off?

  1. Thank you George for allowing us to show the world we can have an American debate and all still be friends! I had a lot of fun yesterday, and I wanted to thank you for the forum and bold topics. George is very close by (Beaverton), but I can't go bother him because I have to watch this house I just sold (under contract). SO I will likely go back into the "reader only" mode in a couple of weeks. Thank-you for letting me practice my 1st Amendment rights on your forum Sir George :)

  2. I had a dream last night of George on an ATV! Hahaha. He was the night patrol watch for the Jojoba Hills Protectionist Society. The tower would call to him on the radio..."George, George...come in George. We have a signal breach at L9 on the perimeter fence. Can you check it out George? It might be a bear, so bring a shotgun." Over....

  4. I have a beautiful full service RV spot on my beautiful acreage between Portland and Salem just west of I-5. George, I have been following you from the start for many years. I thought about inviting you to stay at my place at your convenience but have come to realize I don't like your politics. Too bad, it would have been fun to meet you. My wife and I have been RVing 7 months a year for the past 45 years. We would have had a lot in common and a lot to talk about. Good luck in your future travels and stay safe!

    1. So what type of Americans would you allow at your beautiful RV park? What if they were stuck on the highway and needed help? Would you help them if they were politically different? It sounds like a fake reply actually. Who says "I have a beautiful place you can't come to...!" I would ignore this one George...

    2. Your "reverse invitation" to George is, pathetic. Mean-spirited and juvenile.

    3. Hi Everybody,

I believe that there is NO Phil and Greta.

I've been Blogging since 2003. I have never had any communication from a Phil and Greta in all those years.

So, let's all of us not feed into their desire to get a reaction from us.

    4. Many years ago I mentioned to you George not to mention so many boondock locations. We have enjoyed boondocking for 45 years and enjoy it because it is not crowded. Not sure if you remember the discussion. I guess not. I am 70 and never discussed politics until the Black man came on the scene. I was raised in the South and I immediately got NASTY notes from my 'good Christian' friends and family about the Black guy (they used the 'N' word) running for president of our United States. I was so disgusted that my wife and I immediately went from being independents voters to being flaming liberal Democrats. I have since disowned anyone who is dumb enough to vote Republican or vote for lying immoral flim-flam man THUMP. My wife and my morals are different. I have nothing in common with all these so called 'good high' quality Christians'! What a hateful bunch! I didn't used to feel this way.

    5. Dear Phil - If you have friends who hated President Obama because he was black, and who identify as Republicans, then they, as well as you are sorely misinformed about the Republican Party (as are many, it seems). I guess it's easy if you ignore these facts: It was a Republican president who sent in the National Guard to desegregate the schools in Little Rock, Arkansas; When President Johnson pushed the 1964 Civil Rights Act through congress, 80 percent of Republicans in the House voted aye, as against 61 percent of Democrats. In the Senate, 82 percent of Republicans favored the law, but only 69 percent of Democrats. Among the Democrats voting nay were Albert Gore Sr., Robert Byrd, and J. William Fulbright; the first black National Security Adviser, first black Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (in command of all our armed forces, including during wartime), and first black Secretary of State were appointed by a Republican president (all positions held by Colin Powell), as was the first black female National Security Adviser, and first black female Secretary of State (Condoleezza Rice). As Secretaries of State, both Powell and Rice were fourth in line for succession to the presidency. The first black Secretary of Education was appointed by a Republican president, and Republican presidents have appointed African-Americans as Secretaries of Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, and Supreme Court Justice. Michael Steele was Chairman of the Republican National Committee from 2009 to 2011. The greatest conservative political philosophers are black: Thomas Sowell, Shelby Steele, Armstrong Williams. You may argue that more African Americans vote Democrat, but your implication is that Republicans are racist, and except for the fact that there are low-lifes and idiots on every side, everything I've pointed out above is true, and contradicts that assertion.

  7. George: You can buy a battery isolator at almost any auto parts store or RV supply place, made just for keeping loads on the remote battery from drawing from the car battery. Used all the time for travel trailer setups.
