Punch list

Day 80

Charging Right Along!

12:02pm:
As you may have suspected, I'm a dogged kind of guy. My nature is keep to going when I have a goal in sight. On and on and on. Overcoming obstacles. Charging right along.

Since before the day that my course changed in September, 2016 from a retired senior living at Guava Gardens Apartments to an RVer once again, I have charged along without slowing or stopping!

Several times, I've changed basic elements of what I am doing:

★ Going from a tent camper to an RV camper
★ Deciding to live at Jojoba Hills RV Escapees Resort
★ Buying Twayler
★ Exchanging Little Honda for Tránsito

Always onward. Eyes on my goal. Not one thought of failure. I suppose that you may describe me as one hell of a determined kind of guy!

I love all of this sooooo much!

3:00pm:
Container Store
Tránsito and I have been thinking about a swing-over to the Container Store for many weeks. This afternoon, we are here!

One of Tránsito's shelf units before Container Store

We made a plan view sketch of Tránsito's shelves that we wish to have Container Store's containers on.

It's kind of a good time shopping in the Container Store!

7:41pm:
George Washington did not run from the British
Tioga George does not run from the cop. I have returned to the same parking lot, and same spot in that parking lot, where I was arrested during the 9pm hour on Friday, July 21st.

I am not looking for a confrontation. I am here at the City of Beaverton's Fountain Park because that would be where I would go if I had never been arrested.

Note: It is Saturday evening at 11:36pm. I have just reached our Nite Camp. There is a small amount of water on Scampy's lower floor. This means that the leak coming from the fresh water tank continues. The leak must now be attended to. No way around that!

I intend to take apart the fresh water tank assembly tomorrow morning and fix the leak. Stay tuned!

  1. George, I love your running commentary of your lifestyle and your various pieces of equipment. Looking at your photograph and noted an Autodesk sweatshirt. Is there any significance of the sweatshirt, other than a nice sweatshirt? Do you have any connection to Autodesk?

    1. Carl,

That is a lovely compliment for my commentary and lifestyle! Thank you.

About Autodesk. In 1989 thru 1991, I was an AutoCad salesperson. I was employed by a Cad sales company in the City of San Ramon, CA.

Autodesk gave me their sweatshirt when I attended one of their seminars.

  2. George, Transito and Scampy look just as big as Tioga when they are together. Is it easier to drive Tioga or Transito with Scampy?

    1. Rita,

It's easier for me to drive the Scampy Team than MsTioga. No doubt about it,

  3. You know if you had spend $10 more on scampi trailer you could've gotten it with the new AI (Artificial intelligence) Technology but I'm not sure if you want a woman to tell you what to do, or a man to tell you what to do,
But I suppose if you got cranky you could switch it to a woman.
I'm also sure the guy would tell you to get over it, and just direct you to the nearest bar.
and for another $25 you could've got the self driving software update it has a good feature it would keep you from entering city parks Dark forest roads as well as from driving at night and going over the speed limit. plus it would self parallel park for you. and for another $18 you could've got the self diagnostic package that goes with it.
It would've told you where the water leak is. and that the coupling needed to be adjusted. it even has a ultraviolet sensor that knows what it needs to be washed buffed and waxed.
But probably the modern advanced AI system will tell you not to leave your underwear on the floor?? and a parakeet pooped some place?? and I'm thinking you would probably think that the AI system is government controlled an go on a rage and tear the whole damn thing out. So I guess you're were best off just taking the standard scampi White model??
Oh and by the way did you know that there is a warranty on scampi for another $7000 its guaranteed to fixes anything that you break

    1. Jay,

Ed is not a troll. He is a very nice person.

Sometimes Ed takes off on a topic tangent. And sometimes he uses too many words in a comment. But that's OK by me.

[Ed....You just keep on keeping on!]

I wish you had not remove your post you're entitled to your opinion

The post above was in reference to our Age
George and I are close to the same age where we grew up we didn't have this technology
When we wanted to work on our engines of our cars we could literally crawl inside the engine compartment
With today's Advanced technology they're like a scary dark place no one wants to venture
That post, a JOKE, to Mr, George is. what IF technology ever progressed to trailers (maybe ,,when,, would be the better question)

  5. First of all Jayhawk? I don't give a RS what you think.
If you stop playing with your adenoid Long enough and get a sense of humor
    Which you seem to lack,
and besides where I hang my hat is home
If George's lifestyle is so appealing to you. he has a wealth of information written down why don't you follow it
You're right he has faced trials and tribulation and he survived
Where others would have probably failed but one thing that did not fail George is his sense of humor
If George doesn't like my sense of humor at times he's man enough to say so himself,, not send a boy to do that job??
I think I answered all your questions,, Say good night J.

Sorry Mr, George I don't like to pick a fight on somebody else's blog but I won't back down from it

    1. Wobbley,

I too know my past Nite Camps have changed. I have returned to lovely Nite Camps that I have made, only to find that the area has been fenced off, signed off, or in some other way not available for me to make another Nite Camp.

The USA does NOT have the Bienvenidos Amigos mindset as does Mexico.

In the USA, the mindset is:
➜ Private Property - Keep Out
      ➜ No Trespassing
      ➜ Posted

The first time MsTioga and I RVd in Mexico, we came to the City of Los Mochis. I made a Nite Camp on a hill overlooking the city. A lovely view.

I went across the street to a house, and knocked on the door. A lady answered. I asked her for permission to stay the nite across from her home.

      She replied:
This is Mexico. You are welcome to stay. It is not necessary here to ask permission to stay the nite."

  8. Hey George,

Im curious. How much floor space does transito have behind the seats if it were completely empty? Just an estimated guess is fine

If its enough for me to sleep in I think a transit would be a nice simple camper in itself for quick trips. HMMMMMMMMMMM

      About 30 square feet.

I have met persons using a Ford Transit for exactly this purpose.

    1. John,

One of Beaverton's policeman, a Patrol Sergeant, is coming over to Beverton's Fountain Park to meet me today.

Probably will not help me with the leak though. But one never knows?! Who could believe that one of Beaverton's finest would have the gall to arrest and hand cuff Tioga George! 😲
