Vagabonding

Day 71
Ultimate RVers

7:01am:
In the vast history of the World of RVing, there have never been an RVing Team greater than the one of Tioga and George!

Back on March 15th, 2014, George's heart stopped beating while at the wheel of MsTioga [Link]. George was unconscious as MsTioga careened off Interstate 5 into a farmer's field in the City of Bakersfield, California.

In order to save George from certain death, the brave MsTioga sacrificed herself by doing a giant brody, thus bringing George to a gentle stop. However, doing that brody put huge stresses on MsTioga's house frame and there was no way for MsTioga to recover from all of that! No Siree!

Tránsito and Scampy:
A couple years down the road, out of the rubble of Tioga and George, there was born a new RVing team. This new team is known by the moniker:
Tránsito and Scampy

Right now in the world of RVing, Tránsito and Scampy are relative unknowns. But there is talk around the campfires, that this new RVing team is heading for fantastic and great adventures!

Tránsito and Scampy
[Also Baby Boid and George]

11:24am:
All morning long we have been going thru stuff inside Tránsito and Scampy. We have been sorting and finding location places for everything. And, we have been doing this kind of thing ever since Tránsito joined the Scampy Team!

Just this morning, our jumbled up mess of stuff got knocked down to a dull roar! Some of our recent acquisitions that have helped us immensely in our desire to become completely organized are:
➜ Calendar, paper, 11" wide x 8.5" high [Hard to believe, huh?]
➜ Magnetic and dry erase board, 12" square
➜ Several various sized wire baskets [over-door & pegboard]

12:37pm:
I don't get it?!

At my lunch this afternoon, I was reading an online story from theguardian [Link]

theguardian
By Lisa O'Carroll
Britons in Europe 'face huge loss' if EU and UK cannot agree on rights

Jane Golding, the chair of British in Europe:
"Golding said she was puzzled about the EU’s move to prevent British people living in the EU from living in another EU member state after Brexit because the organisation’s commitment to freedom of movement was specifically added to the final negotiating document after a meeting with British citizens in Europe on 10 May."

George Says:
I do NOT understand what the above paragraph from this story is saying! I read this paragraph over and over. And still do not know?

George Asks:
Do you understand what Golding said?

1:30pm:
Heading over to 24 Hour Fitness in Beaverton, Oregon
For much of this morning, The Scampy RV Team has been camping in a dirt field a very short walk away from the 24 Hour Fitness Club.

Recently, George revised his 24 Hour exercise routine. Before his routine was to do a few minutes exercise on each machine. Repeating until all the machines have been done. The goal back then was to keep in acceptable physical condition.

Now, his exercise routine has changed. The goal now is to get strong and also build muscles. George's exercise are done in sets.

A set is increasing weight until he fails at an exercise. Then, he reduces the weight again on that exercise until once more he fails at that exercise.

Then, George goes on to the next exercise, repeating until failing [etc., etc., etc.].

Note: The 1:44am post below is a recollection of something interesting that happened during the day. Right after this is posted, I'm going beddy-bye.

1:44am:
A person that I met while walking around a shopping center today asked how long would I be able to continue traveling as I am doing now? He posed this question after we had been gabbing for over an hour.

I asked him:
"Do you mean traveling as a vagabond? Just wandering around?"

He replied:
"Yes. How long would you be able to do that?"

I told him:
"That's a question that I never considered. Because, right now, I am not a true vagabond. Because I have a fixed home [MsTwayler]."

"However, I believe that I would be able to easily continue as I am doing now indefinitely!"

  5. In the pic with this post, Scamp looks a little LOW in the front. Is the floor level? Might just be the angle the pic was taken.

    1. Hi MR,

      Good eye! 😀

Scampy is a bit low in front. Is that OK?

    2. Yeah it's OK. But I think you'd prefer it level when hitched/parked for 2 reasons: First, your own sense of what's "level" and what's not may become compromised if you get too used to it being sloped (which is not good for us when we get older). Second, it's easier to spot the source for any water leaks if the water isn't pooled somewhere odd according to where the floor slopes. Could be trivial though, George. You may not be as sensitive balance-wise as me, so walking on a sloped surface would not be troublesome for you.

  7. Right now, living in the EU is like living in the States. You are free to travel between, live in, work in, etc., any of the states without needing government permission. Same with the EU. Freedom of movement.
Once Britain leaves the EU, its citizens lose that freedom of movement. They need a visa to travel, work, study in any EU country. Getting a visa to vacation is one thing, getting a visa to take the job of a local is a different matter.
It's much more complex than that, but that's the essence of the issue.

America is a great place to live. Even given the current chaotic political drama.

    1. Very good, Ed, Carol and dog,

Thank you for your insight! However, was the question you answered, the question at hand? No! It was not.

But your answer may have helped other Readers understand something about the Brexit thing. And we thank you for that!

    1. Hi Rita,

The Golding paragraph that I asked Readers about may be a good example of a run-on sentence.

Perhaps Golding's run-on sentence could have been better understood if that paragraph were split up into four separate sentences?
