Fitting

Day 120

Outfitting Grey Tank

9:32am:
Our new grey water tank needs to have a fitting for the plastic tube that comes from Scampy's kitchen sink.

I'm going to have to do research to learn where to buy such a fitting.

1:58pm:
Bright Sun
We are Afternoon Camped in the parking lot of Home Depot in Beaverton. A few minutes ago, the Sun was shining sooooo bright. We took a reading of the charging voltage with that bright Sun. 14.40 volts! Wow!

But then smokey sky returned and charging dropped to only 12.20 volts!

7:58pm:
Dishonesty!
In June I bought an iPhone7 and a MiFi device from Verizon. They informed that I required the MiFi in order for me to go online with my Mac.

But last week I went to Verizon support. Trouble with my MiFi not charging. When the support person was not able to help me, I was turned over to a senior support person (A lady).

Senior tech person:
"You are able to go online by using your iPhone. You do not need a MiFi."

I did not comprehend what I was being told. So, I replied:
"I don't understand. How can that be?"

The  senior tech lady told me:
The iPhone 7 has a personal hotspot that functions as a MiFi functions. You do not need a MiFi.

I am confused about this
I've been going over in my mind what she told me about NOT needing the MiFi ever since. I came to the conclusion that the Verizon person who sold me the MiFi, sold it to me even though I did not need one.

Today I phoned Verizon support and informed about what I Blogged here to you. I told them that I believed the MiFi was sold to me dishonestly. And I wanted my money back.

Support told me: It's too late for a refund. That refund time has passed.

I replied: I am asking for a refund because the Verizon salesperson misinformed about needing a MiFi.

I could get no resolution from Verizon. I am considering what I should do next.

  1. The fitting just appears to be secured with a few pop rivets.
Wonder if you drill them out and reinstall the fitting with rivets?

And if you don't want to go that way find a marine hardware store
You can find the sealer at any RV store even The RV section in Walmart

  3. Have your attorney write a letter to Verizon or turn it over to State Attorney General that should initiate resolution to MiFi no refund predicament. The person who sold it to you may not have known it was not needed.

    1. Most attorneys don't charge to write a letter. At least my attorney doesn't charge and I've gotten results. I've also taken my complaint to AG's office and got immediate results. For example, I bought a new used car. Two days later it overheated so had radiator flushed and new coolant as well as new hoses. A week later, while enroute to vacation, it overheated in Yuma, AZ. The car blew an engine. I left the car there and dealer gave me a loaner to finish my vacation and drive it back to Phoenix. I tried to resolve it on my own but they wouldn't listen. So, I wrote a letter to place who sold the car, the original dealer in California, AG in AZ. Three days later, CA dealer called said they'd pay off my loan and I could pick another car from the local car lot. Said no way Jose, I'm buying a new car from Nissan. Problem solved.

  5. George, I don't think there was any dishonesty. Many people, including me, did our research and still chose to get a Jet Pack (MIFI) and a smart phone. Like most things, you have to be an informed consumer. There are a number of forums, Escapees is one, that have very knowledgeable people to give advice or that you can pose questions to. For me having the Jetpack is a matter of convenience and with the unlimited plan I have it also gives me an additional 15 GB of hot spot data. Whether your buying a car or a phone plan, you can't depend on the salesperson to find the best product to meet your needs. JMHO

    1. Yes, good point. I research thoroughly even after buying said item. You may not need it or you can learn how it actually operates.

  8. George,
    About your wiFi...
If you have a Verizon phone, a WiFi hotspot is likely already built in. My phone has it. When I'm in the motorhome, I enable it so all passengers have internet access. Ask them....why pay for 2 devices?

I am sorry, George. These Neanderthals really piss me off. All these new comers really need to get a life.

    1. Kent DeCook,

      I understand how you feel!

Thank you for asking about me. I am getting along pretty good! This Scampy life that I'm doing is just plain wonderful for me. 😎

I actually know one of the false names. He is, in my opinion, a king of screw-ups! He had a wonderful wife. And drove her away because of his controlling ways. In time, I believe, he shall lose the rest of his family when they become mature and are able to think for themselves.

Now he is wasting time here, scamming my comment board. Pathetic!
