San Diego

Day 11

Nite Camp Park

7:03am:
We have stayed the nite at a place that Señor Tránsito has named Nite Camp Park. We are on a wide, quiet and very flat street. Hardly any road crown here. We love that!

7:19am:
Heading Westerly
First to the South Shore Ramp to fill Scampy's water tank and dump holding tanks. Then to the lovely Shelter Island.

At Shelter Island, Scampy shall unhitch from Tránsito. When we were last at Shelter Island, a guard on a bicycle hustled us out of this lovely spot by informing that when Tránsito and Scampy were hitched, they extended over the parking line.

At that time, we did not think of unhitching in order to stay within the line. We have that thing straight this visit.

8:42am:
Breakfast Camp
The Scampy RV Team has made their Breakfast Camp at the far end of the South Shore Boat Ramp. This place is next door to Sea World!

On the menu this morning:
➜ Matza, eggs and cheese
➜ Jewish rye toast
➜ Hot chocolate

Little iPhone captured this view from Scampy's rear window

12:12pm:
Shelter Island
On a map, Shelter Island looks something like a long boot. with the harbored boats protected on the top of the boot's tongue.

Shelter Island is directly across from North Island Naval Air Station. However, it is the dramatic skyline of the City of San Diego that captures attention of Shelter Island's visitors!

  1. George, looking at the picture of your night camp, I can't help but think that after some trial and error you've put together a very functional rig. Press On, to new adventures George.

    1. Hi Bob,

      Thank you!

I love that trial and error stuff. I call it "Tweaking." It's one of my favorite things!

  2. Years ago I camped at Shelter Island for a couple of nights. I gather you can't do that anymore. Too bad, enjoyed watching the ships come and go at night.

    1. Hi David,

No. You cannot do camping on Shelter Island anymore. Every year that goes by brings more and more restrictions on RVers.

The main function of government, is to pass rules, regulations and laws. As a result, eventually in order to camp away from the RV Campground, the RVer must become a law breaker.

And, that is what we on the Scampy RV Team are. Law Breakers!

This is the URL for a San Diego live webcam. You should be able to copy and paste it into your system. Looks like a Christmas boat parade right now. And marine radio audio!

I don't get why you made this comment and supplied the URL/Link?

    3. Barb,

You got that from reading Phun's comment?

      George

PS: I left before the Annual Boat Parade began. I was invited to my fried John's for homemade pizza!

    6. Why did you delete your replies to me and Mister Ed re us both understanding Phun's post and you not?!?

    7. Barb,

In retrospect, I did not feel that the direction of those comments warranted a reply.

    8. Well, you'd questioned us, we'd replied, then you replied to both of us - then deleted your own replies! What direction are you talking about? Often get the impression you only want sugar coated comments. You've often blogged about personal change . . .personal change starts with truth . . .

    9. Barb,

Chill out, Girl! This is a Blog, not a Congressional debate to determine the merits of the winner in the Alabama voting thing.

    11. Hi Barb,

You may not know it, but I've always enjoyed your comments.

I do not comprehend, the reasons for your latest comments that I've taken exception to?!

This comment of yours that I am replying to right now, is kind of vitriolic. Barb, I understand that you are directing this comment at me. However, a comment like this one does harm to you as well.

I am very kindly suggesting to you, that you might be better off restraining yourself from making comments as this one.

Remember, there are two sides between comments we make towards each other. Perhaps I did not completely grasp your side.

    12. You say "I do not comprehend, the reasons for your latest comments that I've taken exception to?!"

Because you demeaned Beemer, David, Ed and me when we were only trying to help, clarify, explain.

You are so quick off the mark with vitriolic comebacks yourself, you might consider restraint.

    1. Ed,

Now I double understand why I deleted my first reply to you.

Your logic is putrid. In fact, I state to you that your comment has no logical merit whatsoever. Nothing. Nada.

      Go back to school.

    1. Ed,

No, I did not realize that.

So, you wanted me to stand in front of that camera and wave at you?

      My God!
