Health

Mental Condition

7:59am:
I have these dreams about problems that actually do not exist. I know that sounds weird. It seems weird to me too!

The weirdest part of these dreams is that when I wake up, these problems remain to be resolved in my mind. Sometimes it takes a short while for me to get it straight and realize that I just dreamed the problem up.

Then, when I realize that the problem was just a dream, I get so happy about not actually having that problem to deal with!

Is this dementia?

Street people pic
Reader pasadenaray made a comment asking for a pic of RVers that are street people. I had Blogged recently about meeting RVing street people.

When I was returning to Scampy after working out at 24 Hour Fitness, I met two street guys in the parking lot. The RV in the pic is a 22' 1987 Lazy Daze.

  2. Haha, no George, you are fine. Like any good RVer, you love to solve problems. While awake, you do this with your mind and body, when dreaming you use your mind alone. That is just the way you are wired, nothing to worry about, mental health-wise!

    1. Hi Ray,

      Thank you for that explanation!

I've wondered about living alone. How do I know how I am with nobody to give me feedback?

    2. That's a really tough question. I might argue that having someone around to offer constant feedback has its own set of issues! Regrets either way, I suppose. I think if you stay with your plan, which keeps you living according to your published purpose, avoiding doctors, eating moderately when hungry and exercising regularly you are a step ahead in the game, mentally and physically.

  3. I don't think so. We have lots of dementia in our families (all sides). No one ever talked of this. I think its just your mind finding problems to solve because that is how you think (problem solving). Early dementia (I was tested for it) tests include counting backward from 100 by subtracting 3 and can you remember these pictures 20 minutes later? I did well enough on those tests that memory problem issues that I have (and I do have) might be related to the severe infections I've fought off.

    1. Hi Janet,

I tried that "Counting backward by threes." I'm able to do it. 😎

  4. I think you got it right when you mentioned living alone.
We have no one to help us keep perspective and bounce things off of. Sometimes small things can seem huge or problems become magnified. I guess that's what all your readers are for!:>

  5. Sounds more like anxiety dreams. I have dreams about getting lost, old problems at work before I retired, etc. Pretty common.

    1. Hi John,

      Thanks for your explanation.

I get concerned about things that change. Like dreams like this that I did not have before.
