Propane

Olympian Wave-3 Heater

8:01am:
When one of our propane tanks goes empty, likely it's at nite. It's the cold temperature that alerts me.

So, I went outside to move the cross-over valve to the full propane tank. This is easy to do because the propane tank cover has an easy access panel to that valve.

When I tried to open the full tank's valve, I did not have the strength and had to use a channel lock pliers. Not being able to open that valve with my hand kinda bugs me. But, that's one of those blessings that come with age. Gotta love it!

Relight fridge pilot
When the propane tank goes empty. it's necessary to relight the fridge pilot. I have replaced the fridge's outside cover with a plywood cover that has an access opening in order to easily reach the fridge pilot igniter.

Usually, it's easy to light the fridge pilot. But this time, although I believed that pilot was turned on, actually it wasn't. I found about that this morning when checking the thermometer inside the fridge. It read 51℉!

I went outside to relight the pilot one more time. This time, the pilot lit. About 1/2 hour later, the fridge thermometer showed a temperature decrease. čśÄ

  1. It's bad enough you can,t open the gas valve
I think it would be a major midlife crisis if you can,t unscrew the top off your beer bottle ,,,, as long as you can do that,,, now that's a blessing

    1. Ed,

Beer! When I was living in Mexico, I would be invited tailgate parties. In Mexico, drinking beer is an important part of a good time.

However, I do not like beer. I accepted the beer offered me at those parties, but only nursed it. I envied those Mexican guys. Because they enjoyed drinking so much.

I never comprehended why persons liked alcohol and other drugs so much!

  2. There's an attachment you can buy that will automatically switch from the 1st empty tank to the 2nd tank...and it's helpful if it also has a ever showing when the 2nd tank is low. I had it on my trailer.worked great
