Studying History

9:50am:
My goal to become educated with my study of history seems to be going well. During the past few days, I've used the History Vault [Link] to learn about Confucious, Albert Einstein, and Michelangelo.

Learning by using videos is much more exciting for me than reading a book. I never drift off to sleep watching these videos. While reading a book often puts me to sleep in minutes.

11:01am:
Exercise to exhaustion
It may be that I am finally advancing in doing my 24 Hour Fitness workouts. Today is the first time that I got heated up.

I am now really exerting myself at the end of an exercise set. Maybe I am getting the hang of this building muscle business!

5:16pm:
Movie recommendation!
From time to time I recommend a movie to you. Here is a [Link] to "Dave" starring Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver. Rotten Tomatoes gives "Dave" a rating of 95% on the Tomatometer!

This is the story about a guy who looks exactly like the president of the United States. He gets hired by the Secret Service to impersonate the president when the president has a heart attack.

  2. George,

I'm also a big History fan. Check out these free college lectures at Yale by some of the top historians in the business. These are full courses taught at Yale.

  3. I saw this movie when it came out. Thought it was highly underrated at the time. I really like Kevin Kline. He does characters so very well.

  5. Sail1942,
Thanks for the link to the Yale lectures. What an asset that is to read and/or listen to the courses that I attended in the 50's and 60's as progressed to current information.
    Thanks again,
    Larry
