Hospital

8:58 am:
A few Readers have commented that I should go for medical care for my head wound to ensure that there is no infection.

I am going to Bonner General Health this morning.

Bonner General Health
I am in the hospital now.  The nurse who is attending me cleaned my head wounds and informed me that there is no infection.

Back in Scampy
I've just got back from my hospital visit. I don't like to visit a hospital. And I don't believe that it is in my best interests to go to doctors.

In the past, my medical treatment nearly killed me. I was one sick fella when I was being cared for medically. My regular medical care ended in June 2016.

When I stopped taking all my prescription medication and ceased regular doctor visits, my health improved exponentially. I believe that I am alive today and on this spectacular RVing trip because I made these decisions

Mobile Phone Ban
I agree with the French middle school's decision that now bans mobile phones.

Data Speed [Again!]
Yesterday I was getting horribly slow data speed using my iPhone's HotSpot. I learned about the actual data speed from an Online Data Speed Test.

Something got me to try that test direct from the iPhone. Wow! The data test showed very fast speeds for the iPhone when going direct. However, it is very difficult to manage my Blog using the iPhone. The screen is way too small!

So, I decided to buy an iPad Mini 4. Bigger than my iPhone, and I now knew of the very fast data speeds when going direct and not using a personal hotspot.

I was already shopping online for the iPad when I thought that maybe I should do another data speed test from my iPhone.

The results? Terrible. Absolutely dead slow!

What the heck?!*!?

  1. George, I'm so sorry that you fell and bangedyour head. Good decision to go to the doctor and do be sure to keep that wound clean. Don't need an infection close to your brain!

Wishing you a speedy recovery and not much pain. Praying for you!

  2. Whoa! Sorry to hear that. Head wounds bleed the most, even minor cuts. I sprained my ankle a month ago. Took a spill while riding my trail bike through Bryce Canyon. That ended my trip early and I went home to recover. Better now. I can't imagine being a full timer and having to take care of things like that where and when they happen. You are and have always been a resilient person. Take care George.

  3. Take care. How did transito's axle boot repair work out? Now got to focus on getting door repaired before it rains heavy.

    1. Hi Rita,

That's right! I did not Blog about that!

The axle replacement work done by Six Star Automotive, came out great! 1/2 the cost if done at Ford in Ponderay ID.

  4. George, could the trazodone have some side effects that are
causing balance or coordination problems? My googling says perhaps. Also...do you do a basic physical and blood work yearly?

    1. Hi Joan,

Trazadone is a drug that apparently has only one side effect. That side effect is to make a person sleepy.

No! I do not visit my doctor annually, Doing that has proven to be hazardous to my health.

      Thank you,
      George

    2. George, it is pretty much the same for me. I hardly ever go
to the doctor. I choose to have a very healthy lifestyle and
      mindset! Like yourself!

    3. George Trazodone can cause loss of balance, and side effects can increase in seniors if it's taken regularly. Please be cautious in taking it.

  5. HI George, I sent you an e-mail asking if your friend Mary Pat is still living in Antique, Guatemala and hoping she is safe as El Fuego has been making life for those there very difficult. I posted that question to her blog but as you probably know it has been inactive for some time but was hoping she would see it anyway. Since you moderate posts first I will understand if you don't let this go through but sure would like to know if she is safe. TIA, George, SandyM

    1. Hi Squire,

Thank you for your kind sentiments.

From the tone of your comment, it seems that you may believe that I had a serious injury.

My injury was very, very minor. Just kinda bloody.

I am fine. Please do not be concerned for me because of my fall.

  7. I think you hit your head a little bit too hard.
I think we can all understand your apprehension about going to a hospital, and it's not unusual. a lot of us feel the same way.
But let's look at the overall picture, you went to the hospital for a specific reason I believe those reasons were concussion and possibly stitches.
when you walked out, you get directions on how to treat yourself ,
you probably got a prescription for an anti-inflammatory or painkiller
( actually with the head Wound you probably shouldn't of got either one )
It's not like you had a whole physical /biological work up
If you went to the emergency room that is the ONLY thing that they treat you for
Emergency room treatment is to get you in,,patch you up ,, NEXT
So the next time you fall down go boom,,,, go to the nearest walk-in clinic
So there is a legitimate time to go to the hospital and is a legitimate time to run like hell but stitches and concussion possibilities are not one of them

    1. Hi Ed,

How hard should I of hit my head? 😜

I knew before I went to the hospital that my injury was extremely minor. No chance of concussion, in my opinion. And, stitches are not made on a day old minor cut.

The hospital gave me no medication prescription.

For the remainder of your comment from:
      "Emergency room treatment"

To: "..possibilities are not one of them."

I only have this to respond: "What are you advising? I don't get it.

      Respectfully,
      George

    2. I was told to go to Urgent Care rather than ER for minor health issues. They happen to have Urgent Care in our regular clinic building. Much better experience!

  8. I was under the impression and assumption that you hit your head hard enough to require stitches and possibly concussion
Head wound small or large or bleeders
    Your reply
extremely minor. No chance of concussion, in my opinion. And, stitches are not made on a day old minor cut.
Your right no stitches,,, Steristrip would have been used instead

Going to the emergency room is one thing, going to the hospital is another,
it sounded like you lumped them both together
emergency room treatment only has one agenda, now / you
If they transfer or admit you, the hospital has their agenda, ??
So If you're not an actor or a musician and you do happen to break your leg go to the ER at the hospital,

    1. Hi Ed,

You may have figured from my two bloody pics that my wounds were worse than they turned out to be.

I did look like a bloody mess in those pics.

  9. You are the second person I've run into who just stopped the doctor thing, dropped the many many meds and is not only still alive but doing better.
That is a tough decision to make...

I don't think there's anything wrong with your friend going off ones meds
If done in a proper fashion.and that's the key
However there is a big if,, and that's the decision is to understand what the med actually is and how it works and why.
some MD people are prescribed 100 or 200 mg by where 20 and 25 would do the same results over time.
There are many references on the Internet to research,
Ones first stop would be to start with drugs.com
But bear in mind if one take aspirin for a headache it could also be prescribed(otc) for other reasons so you have to take that under consideration
It was long thought that aspirin a day keeps your cardiovascular system working smoothly .
then all of a sudden they switched to baby aspirin. why, stomach lining
now the consents is. don't take any if your over 60 so ??
The same goes with vitamin tablets they found no proven set of statistics that it helps after 55
So the whole ball of wax is to do your own research

      My disclaimer
if someone's going to argue with me dig deep and get your facts first
