Have patience!
You may recall that my Jerusalem friend Shimon is looking for an RV or some kind of van or truck for my upcoming trip to Israel. Over the weekend I emailed Shimon following up on his search. Here is Shimon's reply:

Dear Gershon,
You have to have patience. Things operate here a lot slower than in the west, and certainly much slower than on the internet. Today, for instance is holocaust day, and the whole country is in one great depression. And yesterday was the beginning of that, and there'll be a bit of a lag afterwards. There are also other things that affect the attention of our citizens.

But so far, I'm still optimistic. I'm not putting my faith in the internet, but when you start asking around here, everyone knows everyone, and little by little you discover connections. I'm still checking connections through the internet, and I might be surprised. But we know we are looking for people who supply service to a very small minority. This is not a service that is common. There is a large tourist industry in Israel, but it involves very square normal people with very square desires.

As soon as I discover something, I'll let you know. Meantime, have patience.

With best wishes, your friend, Shimon
