4AM - Bucket list
I am a very lucky guy! Because as a result of battling cancer and overcoming that disease, I decided to do all the things that I wanted to do. And I actually did it! You may already know my story. I bought an RV in 2003 and equipped it to be the perfect mobile home. And then I took off on my adventure.
During the past eight years, I lived my bucket list. Did all of the things that I wanted to do. Visited all the places that I wanted to visit. Learned Spanish - a 50+ year goal. Roamed all over the Western United States and parts of Canada. I lived in Mexico full time for three years and part time in Mexico for five years. During these years I also lived in Jerusalem two times!
I also accomplished some personal goals too. I revamped my personality so that I would become the person that I wanted to be. This "revamping" is an ongoing goal which I am still working to achieve. A major part of my personal goals was to help other people. I believe that I've achieved that goal thru my blog and website.
This morning I was thinking about what is left on my bucket list. What would I love to do, that I have not yet done? I would like to tell you a story. A story about a time in my life when everything fell apart. This story begins on a lovely morning in Walnut Creek, California on March 28, 1984.
Would you like to read that story? Hmmmmmm?
10AM - Messed up tire!
After treating myself out for breakfast at the Space Age Restaurant in Gila Bend, I noticed that MsTioga's right dually appeared a bit flat. In checking pressure, I found that the inside dually was indeed flat. So, we drove to a service station to get the flat fixed. It turned out that the flat tire was really messed up, and could not be repaired!
I had never bought a used tire before. But there were a couple of Michelin tires available in the same size that MsTioga uses. And for only $15 too! I went for it, and now we are back on the road!
12 Noon - Heading toward Benson, Arizona
Do you know Ron & Terry of "HitchItch" fame [link]? These two guys have been friends of mine for many years. Recently they bought a home in Benson, Arizona and invited me to come by for a visit. Initially I declined because I had it in mind to head west toward California. But then I changed my mind and decided to head toward Benson for a visit.
Have you noticed that lately I have been changing my mind a lot? Interesting!
PS: Ron has been publishing the HitchItch website for several years. If you tune-into HitchItch you will find that this site features blogs of RVers. Pretty neat!
The promised story!
I will tell the promised story tomorrow morning. This story will tell something about my lost years between 1985 and 1995. And, the beginnings of my new life in 1995!
