Until a few days ago, I did not know the difference between a Vegan and a Vegetarian. I brought up this question with my friend John, and he sent me an email with a link to a story defining these two diets. A Vegan, is a person who eats nothing that comes from animals. No cheese, eggs or any animal products.
Do you recall last week when I went to a Vegan restaurant and bought Tofu Chicken? I actually returned to this restaurant twice before I convinced myself that this Vegan food was not for me.
It turns out that I am not a Vegetarian either. Although I tried that diet for awhile too. Instead, as I believe I wrote to you before, I am eating nearly everything, but a lot less of it. This eating less goal is not easy for me.
For years I have been over-eating. As a result of over-eating, I rarely had hunger pangs. Now that I am eating less than 1/2 of what I used to eat, I have hunger pangs a lot. I like the feeling of having hunger pangs. But I have to admit to you that they drive me crazy. I am constantly thinking about food.
This morning for breakfast I am making tuna salad. I love to eat tuna salad spread on matzo crackers!
