Only registered readers may now make comments. Anonymous comments are no longer accepted. I feel that it's much better to have identified persons making comments. Don't you?
ShoutBox has been replaced by Blogger comments. ShoutBox had some limitations. One of those limitations was that posters could only use 300 characters, and if they had more to write, they had to make another ShoutBox post.
Staying one more day
We have decided to stay one more day at Hacienda Contreras RV Park. We have made some new friends here, and want to spend a little more time with them before heading back on the road.
Telcel is a mystery?
Yesterday I received a message from Telcel that my WiFi account was exhausted. So, I bought 3GB worth of internet time. Cost about $30US and is good for 30 days.
However, in only one day Telcel informs that I have used up 7% of that 3GB! Also, when you buy time like this, you are supposed to send Telcel a message to 5050 and the message is: alto30. I cannot send that message, because the message fails.
I have never understood Telcel. I wrote a blog post a year ago about not understanding Telcel. I wonder if Telcel understands Telcel?
Blue sky
I'm so glad you were able to retrieve your blog. I think we all gasped a little bit! This way of commenting is so much easier. I think you'll be hearing a lot more from your readers that didn't care to post in the "Shoutbox." That's a good thing. Take care, Jorge. Grace (in Tucson)
ReplyDeleteNice save. I haven't had too much trouble with blogger but it does sometimes keep you on your toes.
ReplyDeleteGrace is right many of us shun away from leaving "Shoutbox" comments because of the character limitations. We are too long winded LOL.
ReplyDeleteMany of us have been shutting down Anonymous Comments lately because of the onslaught of spam. Even so we had a couple slip in the other day that used an identifiable site (Person's Name) but had the typical spam mumbling comments. Also when you clicked on the sites it was nothing but commercials for all kinds of different businesses that want your money.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
It's all coming together nicely George!
ReplyDeleteGood call on blocking the "anonymous" comments. It's simple to register for a google account, so anyone who really wants to comment will take the five minutes to register.

I like this format much better than the old one.
ReplyDeleteYour up with the times now!!! And I like the second page with the Archives there... Hard to keep the old master blogger down for long...... And I had to block anonymous commenters too... Had some really nasty stuff show up... Also had to set approval for comments on blogs over 7 days old.. They seem to fixate on certain posts and comment on them over and over.....
ReplyDeleteLooks like you got a great template, Say hi to Kevin & Ruth for me , they have stayed with us a couple times at the Weeb Ranch. Glad to see your sticking with the blog. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna...
ReplyDeleteGood call on blocking anonymous posts :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, I eliminated Anonymous almost from the beginning. So far... so good. I like the comments better than Shout Box too.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got it fixed George.I'm to old for any kind of withdrawal drama.
ReplyDeleteGeorge, hope you realize how much you and your blog are loved! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI guess we're just having to get used to change. At least you're back doing what hyou do best.....blogging
ReplyDeleteLooks good George. We head north towards the Sedona area tomorrow - begining of long journey home. Doing laundry today - got spoiled in MX with having it done for me.
ReplyDeleteBlocked Anonymous comments last summer & it immediately put a stop to all that nonsense. Nice template & I like the southwest flavored earth tones. Easy to read & simple. Good stuff.....blog on Dude. AL:))
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to save things George.
ReplyDeleteLooks great George. Glad you blocked Anonymous. Enjoy your travels and keep blogging.
ReplyDeleteGreat move, George! Now I can comment. Never did use Shoutbox! Be safe out there.
ReplyDeleteI think you might have the wrong link for Weng. Here's what you had before.

Thank you, Don!
DeleteI changed the link and Weng's blog is working now.
George
So happy that Kevin and Ruth could help you out - three of my favorite bloggers together - happy travels!

George,
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to get the new format online and back in action. I like the seagulls on the background by your header photo, it is like they flew out of the picture and are off on another adventure.
Paul
Glad you are up and running again. I love your Mexico posts.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are back in the saddle!
ReplyDeleteI like your new look George.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your blog, I am glad you didn't lose your content....It is such a nice record of your most recent years. I have a blog but keep it "private" as I use it mostly as a record of who what where and when I was!
ReplyDeleteTelCel doesn't understand TelCel - every time you talk to someone you get a different answer. And a different price and a different limit. It you can get your latest purchase activated you will be using it up at the rate of 1 peso per MB. Goes fast that way. Voice of experience. Glad we are back with Verizon now. I hope that by next year they will have things figured out.
ReplyDeleteGood to see all your context back, I like it. Good going George. Also glad you got rid of shout box, this makes it a lot easier.
ReplyDeleteLooks great George...
ReplyDeleteLook'n good
ReplyDeleteHey George! Sometimes we have to be forced into change eh? I'm wondering if you're finding that using Blogger's tools instead of your own custom template is saving you time in blogging? Like their automatic 'newer' and 'older' buttons rather than your custom coded yesterday and tomorrow. Also, I'm curious where you're hosting your pictures. I still have nightmares about when you lost your first year's pictures and had to re-insert them all. You decided to host them on your own domain ... but that has issues too. Wondering if you're still doing that.
ReplyDeleteAlso, have you discovered Live Writer for making your blogposts offline? I love it.
SOO good to see you still blogging!
Ahh - I clicked a photo and it appears that you are still hosting on your own domain. LiveWriter can be configured to upload your pictures automatically to your own ftp site.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see a Search box gadget in your sidebar ... then you could instantly find past posts about anything. Also a Blog archive gadget - it's easier than your custom coded one.
