For many years I have watched as my country, the United States of America, went down the path of becoming a criminal state, and I did nothing. I was afraid that if I spoke up, if I protested, that "they" would come after me!

Today I watched a movie. "Citizenfour". The story of Edward Snowden. A man who is NOT afraid. A man who spoke up when he encountered our country doing criminal acts. Snowden saw our country violating our Constitution and he went public. Snowden put his own freedom into jeopardy in order to tell us about what was gong on. How the government was snooping without getting a warrant. Violating our Constitution.

In fact, the government has crushed our Constitution into nothingness. We no longer even have a Constitution that is working anymore!

Everybody breaks the law now. Our President breaks the law. Our Supreme court uses its judicial power to judge unconstitutional laws, constitutional. Much of our police steal things from our citizens in the name of asset forfeiture. Our military terrorizes the world and kills persons with drones. The military tortures prisoners. Our Treasury Department demands reporting that causes foreign banks to refuse American customers with the goal of stripping away our freedom to do with our money what we want.

In the name of fighting terror, we have lost all of our Constitutional protection!

We now have:
  • Civil asset forfeiture
  • Torture
  • Mandatory criminal sentencing
  • Plea bargaining
  • New bankruptcy laws
  • Derivatives
  • Credit default swaps
  • Collaterized debt obligations
  • Mortgage backed securities
  • Federal Reserve which has driven our country into insolvency
  • Internal Revenue Service which hounds our citizens
We no longer are the Republic that we once were. We are some kind of a corrupted dictatorship.

Losing readers
I will likely lose a lot of readers with this blog post. But I cannot be a chicken anymore. Not with Edward Snowden being so damned brave. I just could not be a chicken even one more second!!

  1. Many will agree with you George. You may enjoy Arlon's views on his Thoughts and Ideas blog at

  2. Complaining does nothing, go out and fight for change. Find a group or organization, or political party that you agree with and work with and support them.

  3. The majority is no longer ruling we have gone from being a Democracy to Fascism, and our Dictator is the Federal Govt.

  4. I agree, too, George. I'm so glad I grew up when I did - but I fear for our grandchildren. Then again, maybe they will be the ones to turn things around. :)

  5. I agree too and the US is not the only country where that holds true. Woe be us and our grandchildren. I hope they will be able to rectify today's wrongs.

  6. I agree completely and I am one of your readers you will NOT lose!

  7. Less government. I think we all agree with that.

  8. I may be Canadian, and not American, but as I've said in the past, I feel American, after living there for a few years as a child, and beginning school there. I'm glad you spoke up, George! Praise God! Prayer for you, continues. Blessings, Lynn

  9. I couldn't agree with you more, George.

  10. And to think we put all these people into office! Voting party lines instead of voting for individuals that have our best interest in mind. Next election the same jerks will be re-elected and we will lose a little more of our rights. No one to blame but ourselves.

  11. And worst of all, the Supreme Court decided with Citizens United to make it legal for the rich to buy whomever they want. It is a backwards world in which we live. I agree with you.

  12. The government has been evil since its's no different when they wrote the declaration to now.....look at slavery, genocide of American Indians, racism, the list goes on and on and it's still going on. However, we are far better off than most other nations...we have freedom to a degree, practice our own religion, the right to bear arms, freedom of speech. I sure wouldn't want to trade places with anyone living in another country....I love USA even though it has its faults.

  13. I would have more respect for Snowden had he not gone to China or Russia. Here is an interesting article.

Looks like we are toward the end.

    1. Hi Paul,
If Snowden had not fled to China and then Russia, he would now be in a United States prison like was done to Chelsea Manning.

Our government is NOT the government of years ago. It is now a self-serving militeristic monster. The police are NOT the "To Help & To Serve" folks either. Look how the police are treating the protesters in Baltimore.

  14. I'll always be a faithful reader George, and I agree with you 100 %.

  15. Thanks George; I've been with you from the start, and will be with you to the END....
    Agree 110%

  16. One Dollar....One Vote
It's a free Country, vote as many times a you want!

  17. Hey George, in French "C'est la Vie". Life goes on, with or without us. All the things you mentioned are out of your control. Other than expressing your opinion, like on this blog,(hopefully that helps get out some of the frustration) I can only hope you don't let this big stuff upset you. Just have to accept it and move on to the things you do have control over. That is the way I try and look at it. And by the way, I too, think Ed Snowden is a National Hero.
    Regards, Ken

  18. George, I highly recommend the two-part Frontline series "The United States of Secrets" on PBS. It is the compelling story of how the U.S. began spying on its' citizens & the part that Snowden has played in re-defining the definition of privacy in America. You can watch it online here:

  19. I have just installed iStripper, so I can watch the best virtual strippers on my desktop.
