My Dad's Day

5am - Today marks the passing of my Father in 1973. My Dad was so young! A few days shy of his 61st birthday.

Endocarditis (inflammation of the inside lining of the heart) got him. The medical community was just becoming aware that a person with a heart murmur must take antibiotics before a dental procedure. My Dad's dentist did not know and did some dental work on Dad in March of that year. Only seven months later, my Dad was gone.

I had a chance to be very close to him because we both worked for the same company for about a year. At lunch time each day at work, we went to a nearby park and played chess together........

7am - Coleman Cot fix
We Blogged to you about fixing our Coleman Cot so that setting up the Cot is not so difficult. And for some, impossible.

Our fix consists of:

1. Drilling [2] 1/4" holes, one in each end of the Cot's cross member
2. Having a welder attach [4] 1/4" nuts

That's it! Nothing more!!

The 1/4" hex nuts and hex bolts in the pic, will be used as something like a jack screw when setting up the Coleman Cot.

When we return from our Tent Camping trip, Little iPhone and George plan to produce a YouTube video showing Coleman Cot owners everything about making these changes to their cot. And, how simple setting up the Coleman Cot is with this new method.

11:30am - Just about to leave for the Tent Camping Expedition!
Our estimated 1-hour errand run turned into a 4-hour errand run.

Gotta love it! 😀

Little Honda, Little iPhone and George [Is there anyone else going?] are off now for Big Pine, California!

After setting up Big Tent, and our Camp, we'll return online to tell you all about it!

5:45pm - 45 Minutes To Make our Camp
It's because of Big Tent and his instant setup feature that we made our camp in 45 minutes!

Boid's incidents:
#1. Incident: Just past the Town of Phelan, there was an intersection with a BIG crown and gully where there should only be a dip for rain water. George did not see that gully until too late. Little Honda hit the gully and George hit the brakes!

Boid and his cage went tumbling to the passenger floor. The fall happened sooooo fast, that Little Boid did not even know what had happened! George put Boid's cage back on the black step stool. Then Boid began tweeting again. Wow! What a brave guy is Little Boid.

#2. Incident: George had put Boid and his cage in Big Tent. All was fine. Boid's seeds were replenished [from the Phelan fall].  A bag of Parakeet seed bought at Stater Brothers Grocery did the trick.

Boid is sooooo trusting of George, that this fall did not seem to faze him at all. Everybody on The Team who went on this Tent Camping Expedition, believes that Baby Boid must be a very special bird!

9:15pm - Everything that could go wrong.......
........ Well, you know the rest of that story!

Pissed! That's what George feels. And rightly so!

Things that were needed, suddenly vanished. And when the damned things reappeared, they no longer functioned!!!

We are referring to Mac's power cables. Also, USB cables. Well, George is sooooo bushed after almost four hours of this nonsense. But too incensed to sleep.

Oh, BTW....Little Honda's battery is now too low to crank the starter.
And there's more...George cut his finger with a sharp knife while attempting to repair the faulty Mac power cable! 😡

There are a few good things too! All of the running around has stopped. Baby Boid's cage cover blanky is now in place. So he is now beddy bye.

George is finally sitting down, inside Big Tent. In the comfortable beach chair. 😎
