Day 26
Scampy's Window Treatment
We must do something about that! Reader Xplorer Steve recommended Reflectix [Link]. Looks really good!
9am - Rowena's home
We are at Rowena's place. It is a very nice 2-bedroom 3rd floor apartment.
The front room has a lovely balcony, filled with growing plants. The apartment is also filled with plants. Since Rowena is a professional gardener, she really knows about growing things.
I was anxious to have Rowena meet Little Boid. Also to see what it is like to be inside Scampy.
Afterwards, we walked over to a nearby restaurant for breakfast. Then returned to the apartment. Rowena has a very fast internet connection. Our Mac is connected to Rowena's WiFi.

There are window films that are easily applied and available from places like Home Depot or Lowes. You apply it to the window and then remove it when you like and reuse it later. Here is one: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Gila-36-in-x-78-in-Titanium-Energy-Saving-Peel-and-Cling-Window-Film-10366483/202241636.
ReplyDeleteIt's a little cheaper at Lowes. The best part is that it acts as a privacy curtain, at least during the day. You can see out, but no one can see in. One roll should do all of Scampy's windows. https://www.lowes.com/pd/GILA-36-in-W-x-180-in-L-Platinum-Heat-Control-Adhesive-Window-Film/1064711
ReplyDeleteHow are Rowena's children? Some of them must be grown and out of the house.
ReplyDeleteHi Grandma,
DeleteWhen Rowena begins to Blog again, she may answer this question herself.

Sounds like Rowena has had changes in her life. She is a strong and smart lady...she'll be OK. Please tell her we send good wishes.
ReplyDeleteHi Suz,
DeleteI just read your "good wishes" to Rowena.
Thank you,
Rowena

Reflectix is the winner for us. Easy to cut, trim with duct tape and use Velco to stick to window frames. It's an excellent insulator during cold as well as hot temperatures should you want to use a fan or the A/C. It also acts as blackout on windows.
ReplyDeleteHi LBM,
DeleteReflectix is what we bought!
