Day 103
Eclipse Day
7:02am:
Yesterday afternoon, Little iPhone took a pic of the Sun. iPhone wanted to prepare for his plan to take a pic of the solar eclipse at totality.
iphone set the timer for 3 seconds in order to have time aim at the Sun without looking at the Sun. Also, HDR was set to on.
This is the result of that pic:

Yesterday we Blogged to you that, one of Tránsito's threaded roof hold down was cross-threaded. Likely, that was an error in the manufacturing process.
This morning we went to the Home Depot to buy a #8 x 1.25 metric tap that is needed to repair the cross-thread.
This morning we went to the Home Depot to buy a #8 x 1.25 metric tap that is needed to repair the cross-thread.
We on the Scampy RV Team believe that it is incredible that the Home Depot had in stock exactly what we needed!
We understand that the Home Depot keeps in stock at least one of every single hardware item that is sold! And the #8 x 1.25 metric tap is what we need.
With out that tap, our solar panel rack project would be dead-in-the-water!

9:36am:
IHOP
We have gone to the IHOP in the City of Salem for breakfast. We enjoy Blogging from a Restaurant.
We overheard the IHOP manager tell his people that everybody would get a break in order to view the Eclipse's Tsotality!
Pretty cool!
10:18am:
Pic of Totality
At Totality, I captured an image of the Moon/Sun with my iPhone looking thru my Solar Eclipse Sun Catch glasses.
The image thru the camera did not appear the same as when I myself looked at Totality thru those same glasses.

7:48pm:
Solar panel roof rack
Here is a pic showing our progress at this day's end. All that remains, is the installation of a center piece.
It is slow going. But I just love doing this kind of stuff. When this project is complete, I believe that I am going to miss it!

If you don't have glasses to cover your iPhone
ReplyDeleteTurn your camera around so as if you're taking a selfie
You may be able to get a picture of yourself with the solar eclipse???
Ed,
DeleteI have glasses. Is this your sense of humor?
George
.
George
No,,, no sense of humor, you can put the eclipse glasses over the camera portion of your iPhone, look into the sun and take the picture best way to take a picture
DeleteToo late now you're going to have to wait till the next one to try it
Recently I have wished that I could bake biscuits this "flaky".. Sorry but after all these years I think this blog is a waste.
ReplyDeleteIgrif,
DeleteSorry!
George
.
lgrf, there are zillions of other rv blogs you can hang out on if you don't like George's.
ReplyDeleteUnknown,
DeleteLet's all of us place a curse on that Igrif!
Her's my curse! ☠️
George
.
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest his pubes
DeleteAndrew,
DeleteYou appear to be a highly trained curser!
I very much love your curse against Igrif. 😍
George
.
George, we have Home Depot And Lowe's here in Chico and I've shopped both. I prefer Lowe's.
ReplyDeleteBill,
DeletePlease comment me why?
George
.
They have everything HD does, but is much cleaner and better organized. At least in Chico.
DeleteThanks, Bill! 😎
DeleteGeorge
.
I appreciate George and his blog. A sense of humor is
ReplyDeleteA good thing to have! Negativity is a waste of time!
Joan,
DeleteYour compliment to me is wonderful for me to
receive!
Thank you sooooo much!
George
.
HD loves having you overnight in their parking lot and even leaves their wifi on for us to use. I know this is not the type of "boondocking" you prefer but it is nice once in a while.
ReplyDeleteCroft,
DeleteAre you referring to a specific Home Depot parking lot?
The Home Depot in Salem [On Lancaster], has signs
posted:
NO CAMPING
George
.
No specific one, we have parked in several. That one must be in a city with a by-law. Sometimes if you ask they will tell you it is OK even if they have a sign, that the sign is there just to satisfy the by-law. We tell them we just want to park for the night. Of course no campfires, chairs or BBQs. That is the difference between "parking" and "camping".
DeleteCroft.
DeleteThanks for the Home Depot info! Maybe each Home Depot has its own rules for RVers in their parking lot?
George
.
George, my oh my, you are resourceful. I learn more on this blog than any other!
ReplyDeleteAs far as that negative comment goes... Ignore.
Kent,,,, this is not a negative question
DeleteWhat is it that you have learned from Mr, G in this blog in the last 30 days
And would you be so kind as to share with us the bloggers that you follow
Mr Ed you have become quite the troll.
DeleteGMF,
DeleteI do not feel that Ed is trolling. He has been a HUGE help for me!
Ed is the Reader who found the blind caps on Tránsito's roof!
Finding those blind caps, with the threaded inserts underneath, enabled me to install the solar panel rack that I am presently working on!
Ed has a very inquisitive mind. Maybe the question that he directed at Kent was not to your liking? But I feel that Ed was not trolling by asking that question.
Let's see what comes of Ed's exchange with Kent before coming to conclusions about what Ed is up to with Kent.
George
.
I personally think mr. Ed is a very intelligent and clever guy ! Never a dull moment. Very entertaining!
DeletePlease let me respond to GMF
DeleteI've been called that twice now and I don't understand nobody has ever seen a picture of me
