Day 98
Tweaking = Easier Life
9:01am:
Life here on the Scampy RV Team just keeps getting better and better! This is happening because all of us are inveterate tweakers.
We tweak everything. We tweak things that on their own, may not amount to much. However, taken all together, they change the very essence of our daily life.
Just this morning, we tweaked about belts, for goodness sakes! This may be close to the bottom of something that if improved, would lead an easier life!
The belt thing done was, to discontinue leaving a belt on my pants at the day's end. My belts are now hung on a new hanger line installed in Scampy's closet.
Now all my belts are easily viewed and are available for comparing and choosing, when I am getting dressed! No longer am I fumbling thru all of the clothes in order to find a belt that I wish to wear.
As Forrest Gump would say, "One less thing."
10:12am:
What's the buzz?
In the 2000 movie, "Jesus Christ Superstar" people are dogging Jesus' path and ask Him the question:
That's what I'm doing here in my Blog. Tell you what's happening! Today's happenings are:
★ 24 Hour Fitness - workout, shower, soak in hot tub
★ Home Depot - Buy equipment and material needed to setup our portable workshop

It's one the first things I remove at end of day to change to comfy home wear...then are hung on a peg :-)
ReplyDeleteRita,
DeleteAre you an inveterate tweaker too?
George
.
George,
ReplyDeleteHere's a picture of a Wave 6 heater that I flush mounted in an 8' long tent trailer using the Olympian flush mount kit, it was much better than just "hanging" it. Don't know if this would work for you.

You can buy the kit on Amazon for $26.

Nick,
DeleteNo, it would not work for me.
Thank you,
George
.
George, I sent you a late message on your previous post. Have you ever considered those businesses? Just a thought!
ReplyDeleteDee,
DeleteYes, I have.
Thank you,
George
.
I installed a Wave 3 on a cabinet door as well. Zero clearance in the back but be sure you have the specified clearance between the unit and the floor, 4" as I recall, and above, 18" or something like that and the sides.
ReplyDeleteThe last thing you need is a fire.
Then I took a piece of heavy sheet aluminum and cut it to the width of the unit x 8" tall. Then I bent it to about a 45* angle and inserted it behind the heater at the top. This deflected the heat away from the cabinet that was just above the heater. The shield gets too warm to touch, but the wood cabinet is cool.
DeleteEd, Carol and Gopher the dog,
DeleteI bought my first catalytic heater, a Wave6 in 2003.
My Olympian heaters have never been hot enough in the back to start a fire. It's my experience that, I could keep my hand on the back without being burned.

As I said in my post, zero clearance on the *back* but not on the top or bottom. There is probably a decal on the heater spelling out the safe clearances. If not, in the manual for certain.
DeleteSorry about the URL I really like my fold down work table. It is so EASY up and down ....
