Day 148
Wound Dressing
7:52am:
I've just finished changing the dressing on the three places where my burns have not completely healed:
➜ Left hand and wrist
➜ Left ankle
➜ Right leg from ankle to 3/4 up the calf
Every morning I am sooooo optimistic when removing the dressings. Because I expect the burns to be completely healed! Gotta way to go.
I still am able to detect a sign of infection. A bit of swollen redness on the left hand. But for some reason, that sign comes and goes during the day.
There are still several days remaining of the antibiotic that I am taking to fight the infection. It's called, Clindamycin.

Yingli and Renogy
Our solar electric system is working great!
The Yingli 250 watt solar panel remains mounted on a 1/2 inch plywood board. I have plans to remove that board and remount the panel on aluminum angle cross braces.
The Renogy Rover 40 amp MPPT solar charge controller is fully automatic. I do not have to do anything with the Rover except read its information on the LED screen.
9:21am:
Little Brown Hen Cafe
We were heading south out of Florence, when the Little Brown Hen Cafe popped into view. It was the name that got me!
Turning Tránsito around, I found a nice parking spot close to the cafe.
I've ordered a Belgian Waffle with bacon. I saw bacon on a plate at an adjacent table. Looks sooooo good!

12:06pm:
Grooving in Reedsport!
Now that the Scampy Team is on-the-RVing-road again, we are getting in to the groove.
We wish to make some improvement in our Scampy/Tránsito environment each day.
Today we are going to make a dent into straightening our the mess of Tránsito's forward storage area.
Please don't be too shocked at the pic!

I get ulcers on some of my finger joints and I got a spray named "MicroKlenz" to use before I wrap or bandage to help prevent infection. Any drug store should have it.
ReplyDeleteMicroKlenz! Thank you sooooo much, DeeBev!

If you haven't got to Winchester Bay yet on 101 and eighth Street the west side of the road there's a bakery called a sourdough bakery
ReplyDeleteIf you get there in the morning order yourself a cinnamon roll
Trust me you won't regret it
And if you do tell us how many days it takes you to eat it
Guarantee you won't eat it in one sitting
I know you don't like to pay for an RV parking
But behind the sourdough bakery is a marina where you could park your RV down there cheap but no hook ups and right on the water
Hi Mister ed,
DeleteI have not had hardly any net access all day. So, I did not get to read your comment until I was 150 miles south of Winchester Bay.
I sure would have loved to savor that cinnamon roll!

The Mill Casino in North Bend offers free overnight RV Parking.
ReplyDeleteHi Croft,
DeleteThanks for that info!

I'm relieved your hand doesn't look like a road kill like before. Looks like you got a handle on it. This is good. Safe travels George.
ReplyDeleteXplorer Steve DIY,
DeleteThank you!
I have been prescribed the antibiotic Clindamycin to fight my bacterial infection. There is a big fight going on inside me. But the Clinda stuff seems to be winning!

Happy Travels, George!
ReplyDeleteHey, if you want to stay at a beautiful place tomorrow, check out Bandon Beach. It's about 50 miles south of you and my wife and I love it there! :) Check it out if you're interested.
Safe Travels!

Hi Tom,
DeleteI liked the look of Bandon Beach. But I am too addicted to the net. No connection there.

It must be nice to have your solar panel working well. Enough electricity to do what you want to. Tidying Tránsito is a good pastime 😉
ReplyDeleteHi Vera,
DeleteIt is nice. Automatically, the battery keeps charged and I do not have to do anything. Love that!
I plan one thing to do each day. Might be just cleaning something. But for me, doing that one thing means a great deal. Sense of accomplishment.

Even though it has been a while since your Burn soaking the burns in Ice Cold Water does help. Having worked in the Welding Trade for over forty years if we got a bad burn we immediately soaked the burned area in water. It didn't mater if the mater was dirty because what we were doing was to stop the Cooking of the flesh below the surface from continuing. Once we felt the severe sting had stopped we would go to First-Aide to get cleaned up and to document the injury. Most times by that evening there was no pain and we were completely healed within a week. Best part was no Infection.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Rick and Kathy Rousseau,
DeleteThank you sooooo much for sharing your work experience about burn wounds.
My propane burns occurred on September 15th. That's 21-days ago. Looks like my burns are doing pretty good now.

Happy to hear that you and the team are getting back into the groove~! Max.
ReplyDeleteMax Willmann,
DeletePretty cool, yes! 😎

It was a hard, painful way to get a cosmetic skin peel, but you should have baby smooth skin soon. I am so glad you are doing better now. I don’t think I would have the strength and patience that you have. Btw, the last full picture of you looked really good. My husband and I are about your age and hope we look that good!
ReplyDeleteGeorge, I truly feel badly about the burn problems you've had. I wasn't able to comment before, but want to tell you that I am praying for you, and am happy that you're still here with us, and are healing. Blessings, Lynn
ReplyDeleteDear Lynnie,
DeletePlease know that, all of my burns have pretty much healed. And in less than one month too!
Thank you for your blessings,
George
