Day 159
The Joy of Tweaking
7:07am:
How does a person keep deliriously excited with their life? Year after year. Never bored.
For me, the answers are:
➜ To be completely aware of what is going on
➜ To be sensitive to everything in my life
➜ To have as a goal, to improve every single thing [ie: from relationships with others to my new solar panel]
.
My tiny notebook
I carry with me, at all times, a very tiny notebook. It is only, 5" high x 3" wide. There is a pen inside, held in place by a rubber band.
The essence of my notebook is:
To write down thoughts that arrive in my brain during my day.
The concept of writing down thoughts like this, is sooooo important! So darned important! That it is impossible for me to live the quality of life that I am living, without it.
➜ There is a golden life which may be mined in my thoughts
➜ If I fail to write down those thoughts as they pass thru my consciousness, that gold is lost forever!
Examples of entries in my notebook:
➜ 08/29: Read about Peter Gelderloos [Link]

➜ 09/06: Fresnel trailer breakaway [Link]
➜ 09/12: Home Depot floor installation: (855) 583-0554
➜ 10/01: Buy eggs, Swiss Miss, surgeon quality scissors
➜ 10/05: Weight of TrΓ‘nsito = 3,750 lbs, Scampy = 1,650 lbs
➜ 10/07: Install small fan in upper vent of Dometic fridge
➜ 10/15: Spring steel for clip to hold Dometic door closed

11:58am:
I never give up!
Today is a special day. I was being challenged all morning long:
➜ My connection to the internet lately has been very spotty. Might have something to do with an iPhone software update. I was on the phone with
T-Mobile for a couple of hours this morning to resolve this issue.
➜ A credit card update for Quicken 17 was messed up.
I finally asked if I was able to to do a data download, from Discover Card to Quicken. Yes, was the answer. That took over an hour.
Please understand. I don't just sit there on the phone while these issues are up in the air. [ie: I prepared breakfast. Did the dishes. Cleaned up the kitchen. Got dressed.]

Finally got everything resolved. Except for the iPhone software update. I have to go out and locate an open WiFi to do that update. But now I know what may resolve the internet connection issues.
Gotta love it! π
8:52pm:
Marie Calender's
....Honey Roasted Chicken for my supper!
And I am sooooo hungry!
I have a bit of low blood sugar! Gonna eat a slice of Jewish rye bread with butter to tide me over until the Honey Roasted Chicken is ready. π
.
The tiny notebook is essential, mine gets used all the time. Plus my pocket camera to remember what I did all day long and where I have been.
ReplyDeleteHi OAT,
DeleteYou and I appear to be on the same page as far as the usefulness of a tiny notebook is concerned! π
George
.
Quicken will certainly try your patience, George. I am trying to find a solution where I don't need to use it but have not been successful.
DeleteHi Marilyn,
DeleteI have used Quicken for many years. And like it a lot!
There are, from time to time, bugs in Quicken. Those bugs are few in number. And Quicken has been very good in giving me support when I have questions about Quicken.
All the credit cards and banks support Quicken. For example, my accounts at AlaskaUSA and Discover Card both have downloadable updates for Quicken.
These downloadable updates are used when Quicken's updates do not work correctly, as the may do [only very rarely].

You said: "I am sad for you, that you do not possess the understanding to know the answer to your question: Why was my post removed?" What am I/we supposed to understand, and where did you delicately steer around a private place in your life in your blog? As a long time follower, knew you had visited son in Santa Cruz, then there was a falling out. Now you gettogether with a daughter who I don't recall you mentioning, but seems you might be snubbing a son; therefore my post.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel sad for me, when things aren't clear or straight forward I don't assume to understand - do you? Do you have proper respect for your followers? Are you truthful and straight forward or do you steer around issues?
Now, with your post, should I assume you want us to understand that Joe is Johana? Ok, but why couldn't you have said you're headed to Santa Cruz to meet son Joe, now Johana, for breakfast, rather than the rather disrespectful "the kid," I have gay friends and through them know enough people that have come out to see there're not afraid or hesitant to acknowledge themselves. I would hope that Johana, as an engineer, has the same job as when she was Joe, and is more comfortable in her skin than you appear to be for her. Please let her know I applaud her for folding her heart and that I'm a cat lover too.
Doubt you'll post my response, but only fair you should learn another's feelings from your insensitive post.
Hi Barb,
DeleteHere is your response, that you doubted that I would post.
I am not taking up the job of informing you why I deleted your comment. That is your job. If you do not get it yourself, then that will have to do.
I did not Blog any connection with Johana [my daughter] with Joseph [my son]. That is something that you did yourself.
Your comment pried into something that was not any of your business to pry into. Nobody else did that. Only you.
My suggestion, is that you stay away from here. Best for us both.
George
.
I did at one time carry a piece of paper to remind me of stull but now I use my phone. Sure dependent on that thing.
ReplyDeleteHi David,
DeleteI understand how you feel about being dependent on those phone size powerful computers!
George
.
Hey George, just giving you a heads up, permits are required for entering Baja, now with an RV and there's alot of other shenanigans going on with letting RVers into Mexico, right now.
ReplyDeleteSo, be sure to get ahold of the appropriate permits you need so that Lil' Scamp and Transito are able to cross the border headed south :).
Hi Matt,
DeleteI am not actively planning a trip to Mexico. But if such a plan becomes active, I will go to Mazatlan with Carol and Bill [friends who go there every year].
George
.
Good to remind ourselves of old things and new things, I too write
ReplyDeletedown things all the time! And, challenges...are the spice of life!
Loved your sweet picture of Johana!
Hi Joan,
DeleteI have a bunch of pics of Johana in her backyard with her little pussy cats. Kissing them. Nuzzling them.
Johana is a sweet person!
George
.
George, I think I have mentioned before how beautiful is the name "Johana." As my family members have new babies, they turn to my "baby book of names" I keep (just one of my little hobbies), and I have listed Johanna in my baby book of names. Did you know that in Hawaiian "ohana" means family, both by blood and by adoption? Therefore, Johana is part of a wonderful meaning.
DeleteHi Dee,
DeleteThank you for commenting about Johana's name.
Me too!
George

Those small notes are very helpful but I have gone fully electronic by putting those thoughts as they come into my head into the iPhone Notes program. It is sychn'd to my iMac at home.
ReplyDeleteThose written notes have saved me many times when I am out looking to buy something on that list, etc.
Hi Steve,
DeleteI have Notes on my iPhone.
➜ Paper is much more adaptable
➜ Easier for me to use
➜ I like being old fashioned, now and then!
George
.
Always have my notebook handy but its not small!!!! Marilyn
ReplyDeleteMj C,
DeleteWe are birds of a feather! Both of us have a notebook.
George
.
George, the breakaway system can be wired to your trailers on board house battery also. You would just need to by the breakaway switch and wire it into the brake circuit.
ReplyDeleteOtto in Montana
Thank you sooooo much, Otto! π
DeleteGeorge
.
Praise God you never give up, George! Hallelujah!!... that you're healed! Prayer for you continues, love, Lynn
ReplyDeleteHi Lynnie,
DeleteYou are sooooo kind to me!
Thank you! π
