Hi George,
ReplyDeleteYou might consider using a spray type foam or silicone glue to seal around the cable leading in/out of the pipes. This would keep insects out and prevent the cable from wearing. Safe travels guy.

ReplyDeleteAny particular reason you didn't use PVC pipe for the cable entry? It's much easier to work with and much lighter too. Also, no rusting on the threaded area, which is sure to happen with the iron pipe in the un-galvanized areas, and no chance of a cable shorting out inside.

I wanted to use PVC. Home Depot apparently does not stock the PVC fittings that I needed. So, I went galvanized.
