Three Days and a Wakeup!
Third Nite No Electric Hookup
12:18am:
This morning, when the Scampy Team gets up from bed, we will be in our third nite with No Electric Hookup!
This is a fantastic event for us!
The last three nites tells us, that we are now able to be camping every day of year, everywhere we go, with no electric hookup!
The last three nites also tells us, that whenever we wish to go Boondocking, we shall be able do that also!
.
1:20am:
Dry Camping vs Boondocking
There is confusion in the RV World about what is Dry Camping, and what is Boondocking.
Definition of Dry Camping:
"Living in your RV without hookups. No electricity, water or sewer connections."
Definition of Boondocking:
"Dry Camping in your RV in the boondocks."
1:50am:
What is and where is, The Boondocks?
The Webster Dictionary defines Boondocks:
1: rough country filled with dense brush
2: a rural area: living in the sticks
7:35am:
Our friend Twayler
I went over to Twayler in order to assemble Table. Sitting on the couch, I was sooooo delighted to view how lovely and clean Twayler had become. Her floor is shiny bright! There is not even a speck of clutter!
I asked myself, "Would I pay $20,000 for Twayler? And was so very much surprised at my reply!"
"Yes! No question about it. I definitely would pay even more!" In fact, I did pay more! In September, 2016, I paid over $29,000 for Twayler."
7:57am:
Team Meeting!
I went over to Scampy and told her about what I Blogged to you in my 7:35am Blog post.
Immediately, Scampy called for a Team Meeting! When everybody was assembled, Scampy informed The Team about what I had told her about valuing MsTwayler.
There was a jumble of everybody discussing all of that. Then Señor Tránsito stood up [In all his majestic glory] and addressed the assembly.
Señor Tránsito: "I make a motion that MsTwayler remains with The Team."
Mister Dometic seconded Tránsito's motion.
George called for a roll call vote, which was unanimous!!
MsTwayler stays with The Team!
She shall not be sold!
10:57am:
Our new table
Little iPhone captured a pic of our new table!
Table has a storage place in the corner of the slide-out.
In this pic, table is in the eating place.
5:09pm:
Olive Garden
A Happy Birthday email arrived with an offer of free dessert when I dine there. How could I resist?
I ordered Fettuccine Alfredo. My dessert is in the pic below. What is the name of this dessert?
Wonderful tasting unknown dessert

How about we throw out the word Boondock as well as dry camping
ReplyDeleteInstead let's just call it by its real name and what it is
independent parking
Hi Ed
Delete¿Independent parking?
I am guessing that, by your comment, that you may not have had good experiences when you camped in the boondocks!
Am I correct?
George
.
On the contrary I hate being around people,, they're annoying, and like yourself I would preferred to independent parking then staying at a campground And it saves $$$$
Delete👍🎊happy birthday old man 🎉🍰

ReplyDeleteHi Lou,
DeleteThank you sooooo much!
Back in June, 2016, I came close to death's door due to being prescribed a blood thinner that caused my brain to bleed! At that time, I believed that my life as an RVer were done. Over! Never to return!
And.....look at me now! We really cannot know what the future shall bring to us.
George
.
Happy birthday, George. Hope you have a wonderful day celebrating YOU!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kent! 😎

ReplyDeleteThank you again, Kent!

Happy Birthday George. May you have fair winds and following seas in all of your adventures.
ReplyDeleteThe good thing about keeping Twayler on the team is that when you're sure it's time to part company you can.
In our case we love traveling in the motorhome but it's nice to have a home base to come back too. I hope that becomes the case with your adventures in Scampy and taking a break now and then in Twayler.
Getting back on the road may become an even more enjoyable experience. All the best "Tioga -- Road Warrior George." Bob
Hi Bob,
DeleteThank you sooooo much for my Happy Birthday message!
I agree with your thinking about having a home base.
You know something, Bob? I pondered about getting a storage place for my stuff. Too expensive!
But $50/month for storage at Lone Wolf RV Park is low. And the storage location is inside MsTwayler. Wow! Cannot beat that!
"Road Warrior!" ♥️

Happy Birthday Buddy! I think keeping Twailer is a good move. Taking an almost 33% depreciation loss is simply too much and sooner than later you will be looking to replace her and having to start all over in making her what you want in a home. Now you have to come to terms with combining your two lifestyles, the Vagabonder and the semi-permanent resident. You have to find a reasonably priced parking place for Twailer so that paying rent year round will not damage your budget. I have said this before, but you will have the best of both worlds!
ReplyDeleteX2 !! Could not have said it better. Happy Birthday, George, and wishing you many, many more years ahead.
DeleteHi Croft,
DeleteThank you sooooo much! 😎
Storage for Twayler here at Lone Wolf RV Park, is very reasonable. $50/month.
Springtime here in Apple Valley, California is a lovely time of year. I'm going with the thought of returning here 1-2 months each year.
Thank you sooooo much for sharing your thoughts!
George
.
Hi Dee,
DeleteThank you sooooo much for my Happy Birthday wish! 😍
And, thank you also for agreeing with Reader Croft!
George
.
Is the cost of storage much for the trailer while you are on the road?
ReplyDeleteHi Paul,
DeleteGood question!
Storage is $50/month. I'll likely stay at Lone Wolf RV Park 1-2 months each year.
Apple Valley is a lovely place in the Spring time. This is high desert. Some years, the flower filled up here are breath taking!
Looking southeast, Apple Valley has a horseshoe shaped bunch of mountains. In the late afternoon, the shadows from the low Sun are phenomenal!

Happy Birthday George! Hope you have a terrific day!
ReplyDeleteHi Gail,
DeleteThank you sooooo much!
George
.
Twayler is a keeper! Great layout. As for no hookups, whether it´s dry camping or boondocking it beats sitting in an rv park. We love dry camping and boondocking in Mexico. We are planning now for our December/January trip! Have fun George and Feliz Cumpleaños!
ReplyDeleteMuchas Gracias, LBM,
Delete!Y, buen viaje¡
Jorge
.
Happy birthday George. Your dessert looks yummy. I believe it is a chocolate cheese cake. Glad you decided not to sell Twayler.
ReplyDeleteTBW did you win your court case?
DeleteHi Rita,
DeleteThank you sooooo much for your "Happy birthday George."
I am very delighted about NOT selling Twayler as well!
George
PS: I have moved passed that court case. Not on my mind anymore!

ReplyDeleteHi Sandy!

I have enjoyed my birthday sooooo much! Unbelievable!
Bye,

.
Happy birthday, George! I think your dessert is "Black Tie Mousse Cake" -- "Rich layers of chocolate cake, dark chocolate cheesecake and creamy custard mousse." It's the only one on the Olive Garden web site that looks like your photo.

Hi Testing!

Black Tie Mousse Cake! That's the one!
