Biz-Z-Bee!

7:10 am:
Mr. Dometic, our noble fridge,  was manufactured with a lower outside vent cover that needed correction. As-is, while moving down-the-road, the wind blows the pilot out!

George designed a plywood replacement vent cover which is solid all over. No slotted vents. The cover does have a rectangular hand-hole at the end where the fridge pilot-igniter button is located.

8:12 am:
Señor Tránsito marker lite
Some dastardly person smacked Tránsito's rear marker light.  The fixture busted. Also, needed a lamp holder with pigtail and LED lite.

Be here at the local Ford dealer tomorrow afternoon. Impressive service!

10:30 am:
Geeks On Tour
George arrived at the Geeks booth. Chris taught George how to process credit card payments for Geek's seminars.

Out of the entire bunch of exhibitors, there were four that will be pursued:

6:05 pm:
Rally Neighbors
This morning I met Rita, my next RV neighbor. Rita was carrying a bowl of gorgeous pineapple chunks and offered them to me. I ate several.

Rita invited me to visit where her neighbors gathered in the early evening. About 10-people were there when I arrived. It was a friendly group.

While I was sitting there, with the neighborhood RV group,  Chris and Jim Guld drove up riding their electric bicycles!

6:57 pm:
Chris and Jim
All three of us entered Scampy, sat down and talked together for about an hour.

We recalled together how all of us formerly got on the internet using the:
Datastorm Satellite Internet Antenna [Link]

We also recalled the Hitch Hitch Blog which featured RVers who Blogged!

  1. George, If you put a solid cover over the vent, the fridge will run hot, very hot and it won't cool the inside of the fridge..those vents are there for a reason. Instead put some kind of baffle around the flame to keep it from blowing out.

    1. Hi Larry,

The cover has a hole on the opposite side from the pilot flame.

A baffle does not work. I've tried that.

My cover does work. Used one for two years. I'm replacing the cover now because the old cover did not look good.

  4. George I agree 100% with Larry. You need air entering that that area constantly to keep the coils on the back of the fridge cooled down. Your poor fridge has been working extra hard to keep inside temps. in the lower 40's.

    1. Hi Fred,

There is air passing thru the Dometic's vent cover. Just not so much air that the pilot flame blows out while traveling.

  5. George, you probably don't remember me, but I followed your blog back in 2006-2008, I think. Then I met my current husband and things got hectic and I lost track of you (the two years of living in Ecuador didn't help...LOL) Jim Guld posted a photo of you in their booth and I got your blog link from him. Glad you are still trucking around!! [Froggi Donna]
