Little iPhone was sooooo busy last nite! He captured exploding fireworks being set off at the beach in Whitefish Montana until 11 pm!
Whatta tough job for this hard-working little guy!
12:11 pm:
Alpine Village Laundry
We are here doing our laundry. Nice laundry.
Lotsa alpine trees all over the place!
1:00 pm:
Leaving Whitefish
The Scampy Team was already on the at the eastern outskirts of Colombia Falls, a few miles east of Whitefish. That is when Little iPhone spotted a Super 1 Grocery. Since we really like Super 1, we went shopping there.
As is many times the case, even though we only needed a couple of things, we left the store paying $34.21 for a whole bunch of things!
4:04 pm:
Hungry Horse Dam
I don’t understand why it took us sooooo long to get out to that dam? We went on the road on the west side of the lake first. Then the east road.
[When I locate where the missing pics of my dam visit are, I will publish them here]
5 pm:
Glacier National Park
About a week ago we checked the campground status of Glacier Park. No campground was full at that time.
This afternoon when we asked the West Glacier USFS guard, every campgrounds was full!

Nite Camped near Glacier
Nite Camped near Glacier
We traveled east from Glacier a few miles and then followed a dirt road into the forest. The highway goes very close to our Camp.
Later this evening we are expecting the traffic to go down to almost nothing. Good for sleeping!

George, I've never heard of an Alpine tree. Are you sure that's what they are? By definition, an alpine plant is one that lives above the tree line.
ReplyDeleteHi Hotel,
DeleteThat's what I meant?! What was I thinking?
George

Hi George. I think that Hail Columbia is a great national song. The rhythm and singability (if that is a word) makes it a preferred one. Btw, my husband drove to Fort Devens every summer when he was in the Army Reserves. He must have just missed you marching on July 4, 1961. He says your last name means “teacher”. We come from a long line of teachers. How did Boid like the booming fireworks?
ReplyDeleteHi Clayart,
DeleteBoid was not bothered even one bit with those booming fireworks. They were ver loud too!
Yes, my last name is teacher in German. Some of my ancestors must have lived in Germany a long time ago.

Hi George... just a suggestion for your thousands of followers: use Google Earth to see where George is traveling, then use Street View to see the actual road and places. I did this for Hungry Horse Dam and, of course, my "envy" of George re his life on the road increased!
ReplyDeleteGeorge is living the great life, not just the goos life.
Maybe the computer couple George will be visiting can explain to the FMCA group the extent of George's contribution to the RV lifestyle and have George recognized at their evening event.
Hi Ernie,
DeleteThru the years, you have sent to me some
wonderful compliments! 😎
Thank you sooooo much!
