After the Accident

3:06 pm:
The event of running-off-road this morning was sooooo traumatic for me, that I was not able to fall asleep until 5:30 am! And I did not get up out of bed, until 12:30 pm!!

That running-off-the-road accident needs some closure. So, although this Blog post that you are reading now happened on the same day as that accident [September 17th, 2018], we have begun a new Blog post.
Both dated September 17, 2018.

3:20 pm:
Heading Out From Arlington
The Scampy Team is continuing our journey south and are heading out from the City of Arlington Washington.

We do not enjoy driving giant highways. Such as Interstate 5. So, we will be driving along State-9.

4:50 pm:
Another Accident!!!
Oh my God! I had another accident!

I was about a block away from the Outback Steakhouse in the City of Snohomish Washington. I was making a left turn to the shopping center when a truck going straight collided with Señor Tránsito. I was only drifting forward when the collision happened. Almost stopped.

As you may see in the pic, Tránsito has a considerable amount of front-end damage. I was not injured. The airbags did not deploy.

This day! September 17th, 2018, has been a dramatic day in my life.

Poor Señor Tránsito!

5:42 pm:
Break My Karma!
Officer Brian Fenske who handled the accident, told me:
"Go have that steak dinner. You deserve it after having two accidents on the same day.

Maybe the steak dinner will break your karma!?"

  1. Oh, George! I just saw your Running-off-the-Road post! I immediately thought of the day you had your heart attack and demise of Ms Tioga! SO glad it was just a little thing yesterday and all is well.

    1. Hi Mary,

Did you know that I was just involved in another accident?

Both accidents occurred on the same day. The ditch accident happened just past midnite this morning. And the collision accident at 4:39 pm this afternoon.

    1. Hi David,

Yes, that is certainly a correct comment.

However, I am easily able to live the entire balance of my life without this type of excitement.

  3. Poor Señor Tránsito! Glad you are okay George. Yes, a steak dinner will help. And if not, it certainly won't hurt!

    1. Hi Kevin,

My life's experiences have taught me that there are supernatural forces that influence or somehow control what happens to me.

      Definition of supernatural:
"The supernatural is defined as events or things that cannot be explained by nature or science and that are assumed to come from beyond or to originate from otherworldly forces."

    3. Hi N,

      The thing is this......

It is not for me to know the reasons for what God does with my life. There is only one thing. Only one absolute in my life.

And that is to be the very best George that I am able to be! There is no doubt in my mind, that I am that George right now. I will be a better George, tomorrow.

I will never, ever quit on myself. As long as I may live.

  4. Oh, George! Is this why a Psychologist told a group of us that one should ever make left turns when one is an aged driver? We are happy that you were not hurt.

    1. Hi Bev,

I do not comprehend the meaning of the part of your comment where you write:
"... one should never make left turns when one is an aged driver..."

Would you please write back and explain?

Also, thank you for being happy for me! 😎

  5. George, sorry that had to happen. Is Transito drivable? I hope the other guy has good insurance. I had one of those last year but was in a RV park. The other guy had a 5th wheel and scraped the whole front of my motorhome. He had Gieco and they got me fixed up better than new. Steve

  7. Yeesh! I know how that is after an accident. Your adrenaline is just pumping through your system and it's hard to concentrate on just one aspect. Mind going a mile a minute. So sorry you had this accident AND that it happened on such a memorable day. Take good care of yourself

    1. Hi MJ,

Thank you tuning in to my after-accident feelings and writing about them in your comment. 😎

Are you defining today for me as being memorable because I have had 2-accidents in one-single day?

  8. I'm sorry to hear you had two accidents in one day! Perhaps you had too much on your mind i.e. Boid, nite camp, getting stuck, etc. Did you get the traffic ticket? Was oncoming traffic still moving when you tried to make that left turn? I've gotten hit too many times (none my fault) when people weren't paying attention like running a red light, rear end collision, illegal left turn which cut me off (on three lane one-way street), and people turning into my lane not looking at blind spot. The woman who ran a red light tried to say I jump the green light but witnesses came forward when she took me to court. She was driving a Cadillac and brought two lawyers to court. Witnesses told she ran a red light & I broad sided her Cadillac. Accidents happen so quick sometimes you have no time for reaction or the reaction is too late. Take care on the road. I was rear ended by Shamrock Towing Co. towing another truck as I was stopped at a school cross walk, with other traffic, while kids were crossing. I was hit so hard, I ended up in the back seat and blacked out. They had to use jaws of life to cut me out...doors were jammed tight & glass shattered. Took me a year of physical therapy to gain strength back in my grip, back, and neck. Two young boys made left turn and I hit them broadside. They made the left turn from my right side or middle lane & cut me off. No one was hurt and the boys said they were looking for an address to deliver Thanksgiving turkeys to family in need. Their insurance paid for damages to my car. I hired a lawyer to take Shamrock Towing to court due to medical bills and total loss of my car. Anyway, the good spirits are taking care of you. Be safe.

    1. Hi Rita,

In this comment, you appear to be trying to resolve what happened to me in regards to my two accidents of yesterday.

That is not possible, Rita. Because I am me. And you are you. This means that what happens to me has nothing to do with what has happened to you during your life.

However, I commend your imagination in trying to make this connection between us! 😎

    1. Hi Ray,

It is Ray, isn't it? Perhaps it would be good for communication between us, if you would sign your comments. [ie; Regards, Ray.]

This comment of yours suggests that it is location that caused these two accidents to happen in the same day. I do not believe that location has anything to do with it.

Stuff happens. It is up to me to figure out what to do when a particular "piece if stuff" happens to me.

In the case of these two accidents, in my opinion, wimping out by heading back to California is NOT the answer.

      Thank you for your comment,
      George

  11. Dearest George,

To quote you, "The thing is this......

It is not for me to know the reasons for what God does with my life. There is only one thing. Only one absolute in my life.

And that is to be the very best George that I am able to be! There is no doubt in my mind, that I am that George right now. I will be a better George, tomorrow.

I will never, ever quit on myself. As long as I may live."

This says everything. It defines you and is so perfect, so good, so true. It's who you are and why we love you.

You know how they say things come in 3's? Well you've had your 3 (we all do from time to time), with Baby Boid and the two accidents. One gift is it heightened your awareness and that's always a wonderful thing.

You, too, are wonderful. Bless your sweet and spirited heart, and thank you for always being young enough to take a side road.

    Love, Barbara
