George vs Apple

8:12 am:
My position concerning my iPhone 7's bad microphone is that Apple sold me a defective product. All I want is an iPhone that is not defective.

If that means exchanging my present defective phone for an Apple-supplied phone, so-be-it!

Apple's position is that because I had my broken iPhone screen replaced by
a shop that was not approved by Apple that my iPhone can no longer be repaired.

Since the bad microphone preceded the screen replacement, Apple's position does not hold water,

I have been in daily communication with Apple support since September 4th.

To be continued .......

9:18 am:
Cut On Foot

Around 3 am this morning I felt a pain in my left foot. When I took a look, there was a lot of dry blood near my big toe!

Thru the dried blood, I was able to see a cut located on the bottom of my foot at the rear of my left big toe. The first thing to do was to antiseptically remove the dried blood. Then clean the cut and then dress the wound.

It took about an hour to clean my foot properly. Then dress the wound. There is a very well stocked first-aid supply onboard Scampy so I am able to dress a wound such as this one.

1:08 pm:
Osoyoos Lake Park
The Scampy Team is meeting Sherman the RV here at Osoyoos. And of course when Sherman arrives, won't Kevin and Ruth be here too? 😍

2:10 pm:
Kevin and Ruth Visit Scampy!
All three of us were sooooo excited to see each other. We talked and talked and talked!

George, Ruth, and Kevin visiting inside Scampy!

3:30 pm:
Baby Boid Escaped!
I was not aware that I had left Boid's cage door open when I took him to a park table for fresh air.

Suddenly, Boid flew out of his cage and landed on a small tree. Ruth found Boid in that tree. We attempted to coax Boid into his cage by holding the cage close to him.

But Boid flew away from the small tree and landed in a large tree. Boid has been staying on the same limb in that large tree for over two hours!!

We are able to hear Boid singing, every once in a while.

6:06 pm:
Playing Rock 'n Roll to attract Boid!
I am not able to see Boid up in the tree. When Kevin and Ruth were here, both of them were able to see and hear Boid.

But not me! My hearing and vision are not good enough!

So, I am playing Rock 'n Roll on Mac the computer. And praying to God for a miracle!

Please, please, God!

6:45 pm:
The Sun Has Set Behind The Hill
I do not know for sure if Boid is still up in the big tree. I suspect that he is up there.

Boid is a very patient guy. He mostly stayed inside his cage. Now, up in the big tree, he is likely just sitting there. Waiting for me to save him. But I am unable to save Boid.

I feel so bad for Boid. He has come to this terrible end because of my carelessness.

  1. That foot probably looks worse than it is, but hope it heals quickly.
With a trillion $$$ in market cap, I hope Apple comes through for you! Android awaits if you want to switch away from the dark side 🤣

    1. Hi Kent,

You are correct! When I cleaned all the dried blood off of my left foot, only the cut remained. That cut was not deep.

I plan to re-dress that cut daily until it's healed.

    1. Hi Stephen,

I was wearing my Teva sandals. Something sharp may have worked its way under my big toe!

  4. Apples' attitude towards "unauthorized repairs" seems to be the trend among "hoity-toity" companies. Tesla is pulling the same thing, and restricting parts sales in order keep business (and profits) in-house. When I hear of such stories I make a mental note to avoid doing business with them. I don't want to become a "victim" rather than a customer...

    1. Hi John,

If I did not like my Mac computer and my iPhone so much, I likely would consider dropping Apple over this issue.

  6. I feel so bad for both Boid and yourself! If you didn't leave his cage with the door open, why don't you leave it as early as possible in the morning? Stay around, play your music and hopefully, he'll come down. 🙏

    1. Hi Judy,

I will back at the park early as possible in the morning!

Hopefully Boid will be hungry and go to eat inside his cage.

    1. Hi Sue,

Of course I intend to get another parakeet! Life goes on.

But my next parakeet will have clipped wings.

  8. OMG Boid escaped!! Maybe if you put his feeder up in the small tree he'll see it and come down. I'm so sorry about Boid...I'm sure he'll come home.

    1. Hi Rita,

I actually got Boid's cage within a foot of Boid when he first escaped and was in the small tree.

I was sure that he would hop thru the door and into his cage. Because he likes being in his cage.

But Boid flew away into the big tree and remained in one place in that tree for more than an hour.

When Kevin and Ruth left the park to go to their Nite Camp, I lost track of Boid because my vision is not good enough to see him.

Boid likely is still in that big tree right now.

  9. OMG George. I feel terrible! Our pets are so priceless. They are family. I so hope you can get Boid. If I remember, this is the third bird since your start I 2003.

    1. Hi Bill,

My BIG mistake is not trimming Boid's wings.

I never wanted to limit Boid's flying because he was sooooo happy when he flew.

But no more! My next parakeet will have trimmed wings,

      George

I'm returning to that tree early in the morning. Boid is hungry then. Maybe he will fly down to eat.

  11. We feel so bad that Boid escaped. We probably distracted you with our talking and that is why you forget that his cage door was open and neither Kevin nor I thought about it either. We sure hope that he will come for his morning seeds. :-(
