I think of my living quarters as being very much like a large cabinet. The construction is mostly 1 x 3 lumber. Not 2 x 4s as is used for most construction.
I am able to get away with light duty lumber because of my living quarters being supported by the walls of the Box Van.
Since I understand cabinet construction, I feel comfortable doing my living quarters project.

I am heading up to my Cousin Jacky's home in Laguna Woods, California. There is going to be a latke party there [Link]. Pronounced lot-kez. 😎
Since my workshop goes wherever I go, I'll be able to work on the construction if I have the time.

Often in a shop situation, a tool must be fabricated in order to properly do a job.
In the pic below is an image of a support bridge which was constructed in order to keep lumber off of Box Van's floor.

in waiting off of Box Van's floor.

George, you need to stay on point, I want this conversion before I kick the bucket and I am a dozen years younger than you.
ReplyDeleteSquire,
DeleteSorry that you are disappointed at the speed of my construction.
However, there is nothing that I may do to speed things up. How about you just living with it? 😎
George

It would help if you would stop gluing yourself to the floor. You do know that slows you down, right? LOL
DeleteHope you have a nice time at Cousin Jacky's (I know you two are close) latke party.
ReplyDeleteGeorge, I have a question? All the water heaters I am familiar with require an outside source of air for the combustion chamber. I tried to look at the specs for your new heater but couldn't find any reference to that.
ReplyDeleteWill you have to put a hole in the bottom or side of "Grandma's Attic" to install the heater?
And will you have a carbon monoxide alarm?
Keith
Hi Keith,
DeleteMarey states that an air intake of 9" x 12" or larger is required.
However, I do not believe that my installation requires any output or input venting. I will only fire up my Marey to do my dishes. Maybe 10-minutes daily.
I will have devices/alarms for propane, carbon monoxide and fire.
