Kitchen Counter and Sink Cabinet

11:27 am:
Yesterday at Home Depot, I bought a kitchen counter and sink base-cabinet for my living quarters.

This morning I attached the counter to the sink cabinet. Nova Kool comes with a stainless steel frame just behind its door. The right side's section of that frame will be secured to the left side of the cabinet. Stylish! 😎

The latest addition to my living quarters.

    1. Andrew,

I learned some useful stuff during my 5-years as an apprentice cabinetmaker!

I was in 58th year when I went to work for that cabinet shop. That was a good time for me.

  3. Hi George.... waiting for info on where you will sleep. On the floor on the mattress or up off the floor ... and maybe storage under the frame for the mattress? You are making amazing progress! A whole new career being paid by others to show them how to do a similar conversion.... just a thought.

    1. Ernie,

My choice would be a bed which would be out of of the way during the day and make an appearance at bed time.

This bed must be easy to setup and take down.

A whole new career you're planning for me? That is a big compliment! Thank you! 😎

    2. A murphy bed hanging off the wall that folds up during the day might be handy

  4. Hi George, re bed. have you considered hinge the bed to wall so you can " fold " it up during the day ? if you really want to get fancy build another hinged piece on underside of bed so when bed is folded up against wall you can deploy the other hinged piece to act as a "counter top" of sorts.

  5. A Murphy bed is perfect if you have the room - you could even go fancy and have it fold up into a cabinet - they do sell kits for making a Murphy bed.

  6. A lot of these bed suggestions are hard on the back. I would have a
small bed that could double as a couch. Your new counter looks nice
    with the floor!

  7. Something like this for a bed would give you a table/desk to use by day:
